"We found the staff here very welcoming. Our room was clean and very comfortable. We stayed 3 nights and we wouldn't hesitate staying here again. Our stay was enjoyable and very reasonably priced. The location for us was excellent for 401 access whether to Port Hope or Grafton. We'll be back maybe sooner than later. Thank you. 😊"

"My wife, our dog and I had an excellent stay at the Checkerboard guest house in Cobourg. The beds were comfortable, the house was clean and as advertised, and was only about 2km from downtown. Our host, Tish, was easily available and responsive to our requests. We needed a pet friendly place, and this fit the bill perfectly!"

"This was an awesome experience! As an animal lover it was a great short getaway! The fact you r able to stay inside the with the alpacas and the sheep is a great experience. I felt extremely comfortable in the cozy little cabin, and honestly slept better than I’ve slept in years;)! One thing I’d mention is that it was good thing I had a short stay as I wasn’t offered a shower but I had a friend in Port Hope so it all ended up great in the end:) Thanks guys really appreciate it and I’ll be back!"

"Great host, Rose cares about her guests you can tell that right away. The room we stayed in was beautiful, the cleanest I think I’ve ever stayed in and it was fully stocked with soaps, coffee & even makeup wipes for my wife. Rose accommodated dietary restrictions for our breakfast no problem. The perfect place to stay for couples visiting Port Hope and looking for something a bit more special than a hotel. Summertime would be even better. "
