Very Good

The are no elevators and lots and lots of very steep steps. There isn’t even a dumb-waiter for luggage. The is also no bell service. When I ask if I could get help the guy said “nawh, we don’t do that.” There is no hair dryer. The carpet next to the baseboards is filthy. Your room features a flimsy key lock and dead bolt. It doesn’t feel “historic” more like sketchy. The body wash smelled nice.

Fabulous old building but no effort put into making the rooms cozy (lamps, but no switches or wires so useless, etc). Sloppy housekeeping - rooms dusty and only a towel, no bathmat. But the guy who checked us in was friendly and helpful.
The buildings are beautiful, if in need of some maintenance, which is planned. The location is great - right by DIA and Wayne State and on the free streetcar line. The neighborhood and property felt very safe. Parking was on site for a reasonable fee. The staff were friendly and attentive.
Our stay was very disappointing. There was dirt and dust on the exposed pipes and windows. The paint was chipped all over. The heater wouldn’t turn off in our room, the thermostat was missing its buttons, and the temperature was 80 degrees. We had to open the windows to let cold air in then continued to not be able to sleep because the road noise/sirens/birds were so loud. The staff didn’t seem to care at all. Will not stay here again and do not recommend.
Our host Sharea was outstanding! Everything was Excellent.

I picked the Inn because I love staying in properties like this. The room was nice but starting to show poorer shape. - the shades did not work well and make the room very dark (no sheers), bathroom was lacking hooks and adequate surfaces. The property promised breakfast but it was not available other than Sunday, the water jug wasn't changed for a day and there was no room cleaning at all for 3 days. I lost my electronic key and the front desk found one. All in all, a nice property which needs renovation and the staff more training. The buildings and location (and free parking) are great but you still have to deliver hospitality. I would not recommend for busines visitor.
Great location convenient to local restaurants and coffee shops. Close to downtown. Quiet area and bed was comfortable. Unique, Victorian charm. Easy and safe parking. Will definitely be back. Convenient affordability.
Great location. Quiet and peaceful. Accommodating for sure. Small problem with the heater in our room. Otherwise solid. Would stay again

Housekeeping was disappointing, the room was not. The home was beautiful. The location ideal. The staff at the desk were friendly.
Housekeeping: vacuuming under all items would eliminate old wrappers and trash laying around, refilling the soaps and Kleenex after every guest a good idea, wiping down all wood surfaces especially the headboard behind the pillows and the bedframe, more than 2 towels in a room meant for 2 adults, and an extra blanket.

Possibly better insulate the hotel room or include a stronger dpace heater due to the very drafty windows.
Convenient walking distance to the DIA. Desk folks were pleasant. Room has a nice and warm space heater. There were pastries/muffins (so-so) on Sunday morning. We headed down to Eastern Market to Farmer Franks for breakfast.
Everything very clean, beautiful place. So close to everything!

Beautiful old buildings. Was VERY cold. They did have a space heater in the room. It is going to be renovated this year and it needs it. Miss the previous ownership's awesome breakfast.
The staff was kind and helpful. The room was dreamy and reminded me of my grandmother’s old property on Jefferson. I expected the room to be freezing, but instead it was 82 degrees. There was no closet space due to the tv placed in the cabinet. Don’t expect to eat or keep cold drinks either. It’s focus is tea or coffee in all the pretty nocks and reading rooms. The view of the tv is obscured by the cabinet doors because of how the bed is positioned. I was in the middle of everything I wanted to do (DIA, Autoshow, MLK HS, Hitsville, The Block, Babi, and Le Suprême).
