About this property
Comfy "Mini-estate" on Iconic Corea Harbor
This stunning and creative “mini estate” is perfect for multi-generational families and for couple-friends wanting a vacation in a beautiful quiet area. It is comprised of TWO BUILDINGS-- 1.) a 3000-square-foot custom home and 2.) a 500-square-foot guest cottage. The property sits directly on lobster-boat-filled Corea Harbor, across from three working wharves.
MAIN HOUSE- GROUND FLOOR
The kitchen is a chef's dream, featuring a magnificent AGA Range with multiple ovens, griddle, pot spigot, & burners. To the left of the AGA you'll also find a conventional oven and stove. A double sink looks out over the harbor and another large, single sink, out to the backyard. Dual professional pull-out drawer dishwashers abut the double sink. The 2-level island has drawers & doors on 3 sides, and a 2-stool seating area on the fourth. All non-range appliances (toaster, microwave, coffee maker, etc.) can be concealed in cabinets, including the Sub-Zero 642 Refrigerator System.
The sunroom: looks into the beautiful back yard and has another sink, a sitting area, a table, a desk and a large TV.
The dining room and living room overlook the harbor and three working wharves so you can watch boats come and go.
There is a large bedroom suite, which connects to a bathroom with double sinks, a glass shower, and a private toilet and bidet.
The ground floor also has a library, a butler’s pantry/laundry room, and a guest bathroom.
MAIN HOUSE- SECOND FLOOR: The front sitting room gives you an even better view of the harbor. There is a bedroom suite identical to the first-floor suite, and two smaller private bedrooms (one with twin beds, the other with magnificent corner window view of the harbor) share a bathroom.
Please note: Only the guest cottage has air conditioning. Average high temperatures in July and August are about 73º so, with the breeze off the water, the fans we provide should be sufficient.
GUEST HOUSE: Walk up the few stairs of the front porch and enter an open living room and full kitchen. The living room couch folds out to become a double bed. The in-wall AC/Heat combo splits keep the cottage as cool or warm as needed. Bathroom is off the bedroom, with a walk-in shower. The back of the cottage offers the best view of the osprey nest.
THE GROUNDS: The patio off the main house sunroom includes a six-person table and a charcoal grill. Adirondack chairs circle the fire pit. The backyard has natural granite outcroppings accented by lawns, trees, & flowering beds, with a little bridge leading to a bench. Best of all—it includes a view of a magnificent osprey nest.
THINGS TO DO IN COREA: Wonderful food, galleries, and sights are short walks away. Turn right out of the driveway and walk down Frances Pound Road to reserve tickets for a "Catch Your Dinner" Lobster Boat tour. Turn left to go to “Corea Lunch on the Wharf" and eat off -the-boat seafood and other lunch items. A short walk further up the road and you’ll find a “kick-ass” gallery called “Chapter Two.” If you turn right, you can wander up the Cranberry Point Road for signs of Corea’s spruce-clad islands, and/or you can enjoy the gorgeous vistas of Cranberry Point. Other than the sounds of Lobster boats leaving and coming home, the area is deliciously quiet.
THE ENVIRONS: The property is also only a few minutes drive to the shops, restaurants, golf, yacht club and artisans in Prospect, Birch, and Winter Harbor. Winter Harbor also has a passenger ferry to and from Bar Harbor; 45 minutes one way.
We are about a ten minute drive to the less-crowded Schoodic Peninsula portion of Acadia National Park-- the only section of Acadia on the mainland. The Schoodic part of Acadia is about 2400 acres and boasts vistas, trails, a picnic area, and a National Park Research Learning Center called the Schoodic Institute. More Info can be found at: https://www.nps.gov/places/schoodic.htm Please Note: Bartlett House is an hour drive from the main part of Acadia National Park on Mount Desert Island

Wonderful property that had everything we needed and was clean. Check-in and check out were easy and the host responed immediately. The location was perfect for a relaxing Maine vacation. Would definitely stay here again next time we come to the area.
We can't say enough about our stay at Karen's house. The property is gorgeous and the location is true Maine Summer Perfection. Karen was so kind and communicative from booking all the way through our trip. The house has everything you need for a comfortable and easy stay. It's a wonderful gathering space for friends and family. We look forward to visiting again!
Wonderful gem! We enjoyed a week stay visiting Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor (1 hour drive) and came home to the quaint and quiet of this home. Kitchen had everything you would need at a high quality level! Highly recommended!
We had two families with small children, as well as a babysitter, staying at the Bartlett House. We had plenty of space in this cozy home, outfitted with everything we could need. The house was clean. The kitchen was lovely. The yard was perfect for epic games of Ghosts in the Graveyard. We were within walking distance of Lunch on the Wharf where we could choose our own lobsters. The Schoodic Peninsula has great hikes and beautiful views. It’s a bit of a drive to Bar Harbor and the main part of Acadia but very manageable. We loved our trip!
We had 11 family members aged 5 to 76 and everyone had a wonderful time. The house/cottage were perfect for us, both inside and out. The kitchen is very well equipped -- Our cooks and our cocktail maker were overjoyed. Outside we had beautiful views of the harbor and of the osprey nest. AND a bonus... blueberries were ripe and we could pick them for our cereal in the morning. Walks to the beach, BBQs, just hanging out in the bright sun room. We created a lot of good memories. Our 5 year old granddaughter asked when she can go back to that house.
We had an incredible visit to Corea this past week to the Bartlett House. The house had everything you would ever need and is quite spacious! We loved our stay and would love to return!
What a lovely spot! Very charming inside and out. The house was very well equipped and the hosts were helpful. We had a great family vacation with room for everyone. The area is so beautiful.
The home had enough space to comfortably accommodate our large family, which made it easy for everyone to relax and spread out. The host was responsive and offered some great local recommendations that helped us make the most of our time in the area.
We had a great stay at the Bartlett house and cottage. The home is cosy and well appointed with everything you need, and then some. The kitchen is spacious, very well equipped and has 2 sinks. The beds were comfortable and bathrooms spacious. Outside space was nice and quiet with a table and chairs and fire pit. We enjoyed sitting and watching the ospreys feed their chick. Highly recommend this property!
For the last 20 or so years we have rented houses in downeast Maine-three couples who have been friends for far longer. This house was one of the most well thought out, with comfortable furnishings in good condition, beautiful harbor views, and a well equipped kitchen which is as big as it looks in the photos. It was very clean, and showed no signs of end of season tiredness. There are plenty of dishes, cutlery, and glassware, cooking and baking supplies. The bedrooms have comfortable mattresses with no sagging, enough room for your clothes and plenty of hangers in the closets. The laundry room on the second floor has a large capacity washer and dryer. It is located between the master bedroom and the twin bedroom, with doors to each. so there is an option for the twin bedroom to share the master bath, or to share a smaller hall bathroom with the small queen bedroom. A library with an eclectic collection of both recent and older books is incorporated into the twin bedroom. A smaller collection of books, numerous igsaw puzzles, and games are on shelves on the first floor. TV reception is good. Internet is very spotty on the second floor, but good in the living/sunroom where the sofas, desk, and TV are. My husband was able to participate in Zoom meetings for work.Corea has two very good casual lunch places on the water, a gallery/gift store, gorgeous views, a few trails, and an excellent lobster boat tour, but that's it. This mini estate was a beautiful place to get away.
