"We thoroughly enjoyed three days of complete peace and tranquillity at Vila Santa Teresa, staying in a stunning room with breathtaking views over the whole of Rio de Janeiro. This is a very small, intimate hotel with only six or seven rooms, set on a hill surrounded by a beautiful, extensive garden. The entire property is enclosed, offering a wonderful sense of privacy, peace and security. The hotel has a restaurant that we would highly recommend for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The food and...

"It is absolutely a beautiful unique house with a gorgeous garden… the room was very spatious and amazingly quiet. Communication was a little difficult breakfast basic and the room could be cleaner but it was my first visit to South America and am probably too much used to European standards"

"I’m not a hotel or hostel kind of guy but I was delighted by the place, its staff, the ambience and the wonderful breakfasts. Highly recommended."

"muy lindo y acogedor, las personas muy amables"

"Surfaces in the room were covered in sticky marks from drinks glasses & one of the pillow cases had burn marks or stains on it. The bathroom mirror had toothpaste or soap splatters on it too. The bed was comfortable but we booked for twin beds & got a double instead! There was a decent spread for the breakfast, & it was labelled with a description in English as well. But no decaf coffee option was available. A lot of the staff were very helpful & friendly, but the ladies at the check in desk...

"The location was excellent, not much English was spoken but understandable due to staying away from copacabana. Everything was explained perfectly and there was 24/7 staff ready to help. Rooms got cleaned everyday if you dropped off your key (get explained) and my favourite was the breakfast as it was fresh and filling. Rooms were cool and it was perfect for my use of using the hotel just to sleep as we were outside majority of the time."

"The location of this hostel is fantastic, and the people here are incredibly helpful and kind. However, I wouldn't choose to stay here again due to a few drawbacks. Cleanliness was a bit of an issue—while the downstairs washroom was clean, the upstairs shower area was in bad shape, and the shared kitchen was quite dirty. The property is in an older building tucked behind a condo, and it lacks a social atmosphere. It was also a bit uncomfortable having people sleeping on the couches in the main...

"El internet malo y un sonido raro que no dejaba dormir bien"

"Quarto limpo bom ar condicionado, equipe de funcionários muito atenciosos, boa localização próximo de mercado e metrô, local tranquilo limpo e organizado saio muito satisfeito com possibilidade de retorno neste local."

"Wifi was the major issue. It didnt work"

"Not much staff speak Spanish or English even though customer service was good"

"No hacen limpieza diaria, tienes que pedir que lo hagan. Lo cual está bien, pero me tocó solicitarlo y en mis 5 días de estancia el penúltimo día hicieron limpieza, el personal de recepción los de turno de la mañana, súper amables y cordiales, pero los de la tarde noche, un poco toscos. El desayuno, no hay mucha variedad. El huevo revuelto es algo demasiado repetible y poco apetecible con los días."
