8/10
I recently stayed here and had a mixed experience. On the positive side, the Little Tavern restaurant was excellent—the food was great, and the staff was friendly. My room was clean, and I really enjoyed the cold brew coffee from the onsite café. One of the best parts of the stay was the partnership with COSI, which gave us complimentary tickets—a wonderful surprise that made our trip even better.
However, there were a few downsides. While I understood this was a pet-friendly hotel, I wasn’t expecting to leave the lobby with so much dog hair on my clothes. As someone who isn’t a pet owner, that part of the experience wasn’t ideal.
I was also disappointed to discover a resort fee added at checkout that hadn’t been clearly explained or disclosed upfront. The front desk wasn’t able to clarify the charge, which left a bad final impression.
Additionally, this hotel doesn’t cater well to families with kids. The food options are quite upscale, and even basic menu items like plain biscuits came with unexpected ingredients. We ended up having to order food through delivery apps for our children.
Lastly, parking was expensive, and even though we received a validated parking ticket, it didn’t reduce the cost when we left.
In summary, this hotel has a lot of charm and thoughtful touches, but it’s best suited for adults, couples, or travelers with pets. Families with young children or guests expecting fully transparent pricing may want to consider other options.
