"Loved this place and the people. It is a little far from main attractions, Salisbury and Stonehenge. About 10-15 miles. But it is so charming. Food is fantastic and building is historic. Be sure to have right converters for plugging things in as there are no USB ports in the rooms. No AC and we arrived during a short heat wave. Bed very comfortable and the soaking tub in the room was great for cooling down."

Checking in was easy although it would have been helpful to have two room keys. The woman on the desk did not seem entirely in the same world as everyone else. "Lovely hotel the only downside which I had not realised was breakfast started at 8 and we needed to leave at 730. The staff were lovely and provided us with cereal and milk the night before. We eat in the restaurant on the evening of our arrival and the food was excellent."

That said - it's not too far from the town centre (5 - 10 minute walk), nor the train station (15 min walk or so). "Having previous booked a twin room and paid for 1 night June 18th ,.We arrived about 3.30 to find the hotel Bailbrook Lodge Bath completely inaccessable in spite of knocking ,ringing etc we went to the adjacent Bailbrook Hotel who (athough unconnected to BailbrookLodge) very kindly tried to contact the manager of BailbookLodge Absolutely no response . we therefore had to stay in another hotel for the night .I tried an email to Bailbrook lodge today address as advertised on their webstite...

"The main issue which reduces the lower recommendation rating is the £10 car park charge, which I've never experienced at any overnight hotel stay in my life. Also the internet signal in the annexe where our room was located was poor, meaning that I couldn't communicate effectively with my workplace. This will cost me time in future as I need to compensate and make-up for my schedule."

"Parking was only ok because we arrived late in the day on a Saturday and were able to park on the street outside for free. Any other day and I think you’d have to pay to park on the high street.
