"I reserved a premium room with an ocean view. Not knowing it was on the 3rd floor, we asked to change to a lower floor as my husband could not climb 3 flights of stairs. The manager immediately changed us to a ground level room but with no balcony nor ocean view. The room had a musty smell. It was not comparable to the premium room. He could not provide any other room at that time as they were fully booked. He refunded me a small amount but did not cover the money I lost for the cost of a premium room. The other issue is that street vendors played loud music until late at night. The manager and staff were friendly and understanding. Our stay was still pleasant but I was disappointed that we didn’t get what initially paid for."

"Lovely beach front location. We stayed in the top floor unit with excellent views. The waterside balcony is complemented with a streetside balcony which we used frequently. Our hosts were very accomodating and responsive to any issue we had. There are several eating establishments within a 10 minute walk and many small shops nearby with almost everything we needed for our 2 month stay. Larger shopping stores are in nearby Progresso which is a 15 minute Uber ride. Laundry services are available from a local resident who provides pickup and delivery for a very reasonable amount. All in all, we enjoyed our time there. Thank you Raul and Mariluz!"

"Para empezar me parece un buen lugar pues está muy tranquilo y a un costado hay una tienda de conveniencia. El personal (no todos) muy amables, aunque me tocó llegar de noche le preguntaba algunas cosas a la dama que estaba en recepción y me dio la impresión que estaba molesta pues como que no me escuchaba, pero bueno, nada del otro mundo. El interior muy bien, refrigerador bien, estufa bien, camas muy bien, limpia la habitación, me agradó que habían varios canales en la tv, lo único a mejorar en el baño es que le falta cerrar el espacio de la regadera con el wc pues solo tiene la mitad de una división y al bañarse escurre mucho el agua hacia afuera. Igual me agradó la tranquilidad del lugar. En resumen me parece un excelente hotel."

"There was no mention of full on construction taking place on both sides of the house. The workers were gawking and making comments in Spanish. We were so disappointed in our planned week stay. Ending up costing us more money to find something in short notice. Yes. I did get 100% refund; but we wanted a vaca. And our trip was stressful looking for another place."

"Beautiful house, a few blocks from the beach (not good for swimming), pool is beautiful but super cold, unusable according to my wife and daughter, water supply is limited in volume and water heater doesn't work properly, beds and pillows are great, tv area is also very confy but be prepared to find a few insects, we found large spiders under the center table and an emperor scorpion in the master bedroom, also a few roaches here and there. Garage is great but the gate doesn't work properly, so we decided to leave the car outside every night without any problems, one of the nights we had a blackout that lasts 1 hour for all the neighborhood but several hours for ourselves, hist were very responsive and ask us to try hitting the AC meter but unfortunately doesn't work, that was a hot night. "

"The house was a perfect beach house and the backyard and pool were amazing. Mike who helps take care of the house was really helpful during our stay and we found the house to be very comfortable. The area is very safe and peaceful. The beach that is a short walking distance is swimmable but a bit eroded (like most of the coastline). But the beach about 10 minutes drive (past Chuburná) was truly awesome with turquoise clear water, a large expanse of white sand, shallow enough for kids to play safely, and not overrun with other people. "
