My husband, our pup and I had the pleasure of staying at the Halston for one night, and I wish we had booked for longer. The apartment/hotel rooms are large, far more generous than the photos, and very well equipped for both long and short stays. The staff provided a welcome package on arrival, complete with dog treats, crumpets, jam, butter, milk and coffee – which was so appreciated after a day of travel. The space is quiet, clean, comfortable and very conveniently located to the train station. With good restaurants on site and a nice outdoor area for a pint – it is just a lovely hotel.

This is Carlisle’s premier hotel and it is always a joy to stay here. Everything has been thoughtfully considered, from the spacious and comfortable rooms to the excellent facilities. What really sets the hotel apart, however, is the staff. They are consistently warm, professional, and helpful, making every stay feel welcoming and effortless. I genuinely can’t fault it and always look forward to returning.

What a great find. A beautifully restored old post office. High quality fittings, luxury feel. Service was excellent and the small touches made a big difference. Diffuser in the reception, complimentary local crumpets and jam. I could t fault it. I will be returning.

The hotel is incredible! We were greeted at the front desk by friendly staff who were very helpful in storing our luggage until our check in time and pointing the way to the bus station so we could explore Hadrian’s Wall that morning. Upon our return we were greeted by more friendly staff and directed to our room. When we opened the door our reaction was “Wow! What a great place!” The rooms were spacious and decorated beautifully. Tea, crumpets, local jam, and other accompaniments were laid out for us. We felt so welcome! We would book this hotel again in a heartbeat. It was hard to tear ourselves away at checkout!! You will love it!

What a wonderful find. We booked the studio apartment and it was huge. Separate bedroom, full size bathroom with everything you could need. A small kitchen with a large seating area. Gorgeous furnishings and top quality bedding. TV in lounge and bedroom. The really special touch though was a pint of milk in the fridge , along with a pack of locally made crumpets, butter and the nicest raspberry jam I’ve ever had. Oh and a small bar of lovely lemon soap to take home. Well done to all at The Halston, you have got it spot on

The Halston is a beautiful venue and our townhouse was amazing and very clean, well equipped, staff were great and very helpful. Breakfast in their hotel and dinner in Penny Blue restaurant were delicious.
