I had an extremely disappointing experience at this hotel. Upon arrival, I was immediately charged for breakfast—despite not having eaten it and explicitly stating that I did not want it. When I raised the issue via email, I received no response. Furthermore, despite requesting a meeting with the manager, I never heard back, and no explanation was provided. The receptionist failed to understand the issue entirely.
At check-out, I had to prove that I had not consumed any breakfast during my stay and that my credit card had been charged without authorization. The level of negligence and lack of accountability was astonishing.
Additionally, access to the hotel in the evening is only possible through the nearby Mercure Hotel, which is not clearly communicated. When I inquired at reception about whether the bar was open, I was met with a shockingly rude response. Instead of a courteous answer, I was told that if I didn’t like it, I could go into town and find a bar myself if I wanted a soft drink.
I find the receptionist's attitude and tone completely unacceptable. Overall, my experience at the Ibis Hotel in Caen was overwhelmingly negative, and I strongly advise others to avoid staying there if possible.
