Exceptional

Hotel was very good, among the best we have stayed in recently. Nicely decorated, clean and tidy. Facilities were great.
Stayed in room 121 which was again, very good. Only downside was the bed was too hard and uncomfortable, otherwise in-room facilities were great. Loved the retro radio. ( a safe and fridge might be nice?)
Note:, no Aircon, just desk fans.
Breakfast catered for everyone with continental & hot options. We had the full English Breakfast which was great on 2 of our 4 days, passable on the other.
We didn't try the main restaurant for dinner.
The staff were exceptional, polite, professional and had just the right amount of friendliness. Top marks to the staff.
Parking was ample and we had no problems.
We would be very happy to recommend this hotel and we will be looking to stay again in the future.
First, the positives. The hotel is perfectly located for walks in the New Forest, and within walking distance of both village and station. There is a nice lawn at the back where, weather permitting, food and drinks are served. The staff is mostly friendly and helpful, although some inconsistencies were noted.
The not-so-good: the room was tiny, and there was a constant humming noise of machinery throughout the night. Breakfast was a modest affair, with standard food and limited portions. The fact they charge extra for some of the hot dishes was also rather disappointing.
Overall, we had a decent but not great stay, and we thought the price point per night was way above what the hotel actually offers.
It was one of the best hotels we have ever stayed in, beautiful and very clean, stunning decor, peaceful and gorgeous food. Me and mum love the New Forest and spent many many years in Brockenhurst so finding an excellent hotel has really made it for us, we will definitely be going back there 🏆❤️
Very friendly hotel, ideally placed for a lot of scenic locations, very clean room and friendly staff. Evening menu was limited but the food was very good

A lovely hotel in a great location. Room not ready on arrival and we were happy to wait until 3.00 p.m. for booking in and we asked if we could leave our luggage. We were told to leave luggage at side of reception desk. We booked dinner for that evening and asked for 7.30 pm and told could we come a little later at 7.45 pm - again fine. When we returned at 3.00 pm we were surprised to see our luggage in the same place and not in a secure area. One assumes it is common practice to put luggage in secure area. My handbag was also there. We were given our keys to a first floor room. We opened the hotel room door only to find it occupied by a half naked man and a woman who came running out. Very embarrassed. We apologised and returned to reception. We had been given the wrong key! Room was fine. When we came down for dinner we assumed restaurant would be packed as we had been given a later time and it was empty. We thought it was funny but why were we given the impression it was fully booked! Anyway staff ok - felt overall they didn't really care. Went through the motions. The hotel garden is amazing. Live music on Sunday - very good singer. We had a good stay but I think it lacks good management. For example No apology for oversight with room key! Thought this was unprofessional as expected a formal apology. Who knows what situation I could have walked into! Probably would not return.

Room was comfortable and clean. Doors tend to slam so you can have noisy neighbours. Garden was big and plenty of seating but needs some tlc and more kids stuff. Food was average at best. Some staff were great, some need more training. Not sure I’d stay again.
We loved the hotel, however in the warm weather the fans do nothing to cool the room down enough to get a good night's sleep. We mentioned to staff who adjusted the fan but it seemed minimum temp was 18 degrees! Couldn't get the shaver sockets to work in bathroom but luckily we had an adapter. One of the blinds in our room was missing it's winder so had to roll it up manually in order to get some air into room. Often forgot to give us towels or full quota of towels which was annoying. Nice to have bottled water and coffee machine plus biscuits. Hairdryer was also good (Dyson), Breakfast was plentiful and very nice with lots of choices, although they were not good at replenishing supplies. Staff lovely and helpful. Outside bar only open mainly on a Saturday which was disappointing as we stayed Mon to Fri. Location was brilliant and our room comfy and in a quiet area. Shower nice but needed to be more powerful. We used the smaller shower head to get a better shower, ironically! Sad to leave but will return one day.
Really loved this place. OK the weather was brilliant, so we could spend evening in the garden. But I was very sad to leave to go home. Can'r wait to visit again.
A lovely hotel that needs some improvements mainly around its staff. This is a lovely period property that has been modernised to a high standard. The rooms are furnished to a high standard and have lots of excellent amenities including a Dyson hairdryer and snacks and tea and coffee maker provided free in the room. The food at dinner was lovely but the menu is very limited so I would check before having your meal that you actually can eat something from there.
Please note there is no air conditioning here so I would avoid in the hot weather as it was absolutely roasting hot even during the night. They did provide a small fan.
The one biggest improvement that needs to be made is its staff. Particularly around the reception staff I witness they being incredibly rude and impatient to customers in front of me. They were also not very pleasant to me and lacked significant customer service skills around communication and manner and which speaking to customers was bordering on very rude at times.
The property doesn’t have air conditioning. If you’re planning to come during summer, think twice because it’s hard to sleep with this hot weather.

Lovely staff.
Unfortunately we stayed when it was very hot. Photos of rooms at the level we stayed at were slightly deceptive - ours was quite small compared to others shown which was disappointing.
The fan in the room was not maintained and despite a request it was not swooped. Aircon would be great at the windows do not allow any breeze due to how they open.
Sad not to be able to eat outside in the garden where it was cooler than the restaurant.
Super hotel, part of a chain we've used before.
Great room a deluxe double, plenty of space and they do service the room each day unlike this new disgusting habit other hotels have started to save costs.
Good dinner, bit pricey but otherwise good and very good breakfast at a reasonable price.
Staff great , Amy a star at b'fast ; Eloise (?) a star behind the bar.
Nice well equipped garden to sit out in these warm evenings, not too sure about the neighbour playing his bagpipes.
Cross the road direct into the woods & heathland of the New Forrest, fabulous walks but take a good OS map.
20 minute walk into Brockenhurst with loads of good pubs and restaurants
Lovely room - very welcoming having soothing music playing on the radio as we first went into the room. Staff all friendly and efficient - special shout out for Tanya on reception. Beautiful grounds with many tables, chairs, loungers, large parasols etc. Dinner menu very restrictive and food not a lot better than ordinary. Shame
Lovely room for a relaxing stay in the New Forest.
The food (dinner and breakfast) was standard hotel food—not bad but not great. The dinner was presented in a gourmet style but of average quality.

This was our second trip to the hotel but this time it appeared a little tired and in need of an update
Lovely property, beautiful location.
Very comfortable bed, good parking and ev charging available.
Room was quite hot (fan supplied but only a small window) and bathroom layout a bit awkward.
Ensuring meals and drinks were correctly added to rooms was a bit disorganised - could do with a signing policy. Breakfast also a little chaotic, though a good choice.
Lovely stay overall. The room was clean, comfortable and well maintained throughout our visit. The back lawn/outdoor area was absolutely lovely and very relaxing, with a great atmosphere.
Staff were attentive, friendly and helpful despite it being an extremely busy bank holiday weekend.
The food was really good throughout our stay and the bar area was a great place to unwind in the evening.
Would certainly return.
The hotel was lovely, excellent position, our room was at the front brilliant for watching ponies and cows wandering outside. We ate in the bar the staff and food were lovely
