My recent two-night stay at this Marriott, while visiting Salem, left a poor impression that guarantees it will be both my first and last time staying with the brand.
The front desk and staff consistently appeared unwelcoming; I didn't see a single smile during my entire visit, suggesting a poor morale among employees.
Our two-bed suite had several significant issues. Housekeeping failed to provide basic amenities like bathroom washcloths, and the tissue box was empty. When I inquired at the front desk, I was told they were out of washcloths. Furthermore, our room was not serviced by housekeeping at all during our stay.The cleanliness was also a major concern: the sofa was grossly, white-stained, and the refrigerator had a dirty, frozen ice block in the back.
Despite having a kitchenette, the room was not stocked with essential items like plates, napkins, or disposable cutlery. Tip:gather these during breakfast. For a suite to accommodate four adults, it was surprisingly under-equipped, offering only two drinking glasses, two paper hot cups, two coffee pods, and two coffee condiments and three bath towels. This felt like a deliberate cost-cutting measure.
On a positive note, the breakfast did offer good options.
