In winter, the skiing in Girdwood is unmatched while the area blooms and transforms in the summer months to offer hiking on the North Face and Winner Creek Trails, and tram rides. Enjoy a variety of year-round special events including the Fiddlehead Music Festival, the Girdwood Forest Fair, and Oktoberfest, or head to Glacier Creek to fish for salmon or walk on the Iditarod National Historic Trail.

Ideal for a large family getaway, this rental offers free WiFi to make it easy to plan out your days, a warming gas fireplace, private washer/dryer, and a soothing four-person hot tub.

Damage waiver: The total cost of your reservation for this Property includes a nightly damage waiver fee, plus tax if applicable (the “Damage Waiver”). (A discount may be applied for stays of 28 nights or longer, if permitted.) The Damage Waiver covers you for up to $3,000 of accidental damage to the Property or its contents (such as furniture, fixtures, and appliances) as long as you report the incident to the host prior to checking out. The Damage Waiver fee eliminates the need for a traditional security deposit.

Very hard to find. Instructions on parking and how to get to this unit needs more attention. Some worn down appliances but overall it was a fun get away. Close driving to all the fun stuff and tucked in.

Relaxing / location

Great location for us to visit Alyeska but also head into Whittier the next day. Place was super relaxing and we enjoyed the hot tub. Would have been nice to have patio chairs so we could enjoy the outdoors. But literally no complaints. It was perfect for our needs

Ward Stay

We really enjoyed our stay there. Quiet and very comfortable cabin. Would be fun to be there during Ski season. I may have missed the memo, but parking was a wee nebulous for a good location.

Wonderful experience!

The location was quiet and serene and the house was everything we expected based on the listing! It was clean and friendly and we would definitely either stay here again or recommend to a friend! The only reason we decided 4 stars instead of 5 was the difficulty/lack of clarity on where to park and how overgrown the pathway to the chalet was, making it difficult to bring luggage back and forth. Other than that, the perfect experience

Perfect little house

This was a perfect property and jumping off point for local activities. Quit area and a close walk to town center for dinner and groceries. Kitchen is well stocked and the grill was nice to use! Will consider this property again

Family Vacation

Great stay. We always have a great stay when we book with Vacasa. We actually look for their rentals when we travel. They are very responsive and take good care of you. Mahalo Vacasa for another great vacation.

Comfortable

Positives: very comfortable and spacious. nice beds. quiet area. others mentioned dated but that wasn't a problem for us. it was clean. wifi was good. gas fireplace is a nice touch. girdwood and the surrounding areas are great. Negatives: hot tub more like a warm bath. not much cable tv. extremely slippery long walkway to the unit from the parking lot. i'm used to snow and ice but this was shear ice and flat out unsafe. too far to walk with skis to the lifts (could have saved money and drove a couple more minutes). fees doubled the nightly rate. i'm not inclined to leave negative reviews and i wouldn't have if vacasa had been helpful. it took over a week to respond to an email before our trip. we asked for something to be done about the icy walkway and they didn't do anything. they were quick to send canned emails and ask me if i wanted to buy late checkout, just no communication that was helpful. maybe they are managing too many properties and can't be responsive.

December ski trip

All and all the condo isn’t bad. They should not advertise the unit as having a hot tub, rather mention the cesspool out back you can use at your own risk. We complained day one about the low water level, about 60% full. They said they would fix it but no change, reached out again and they told me they leave it low to prevent spilling. We used it anyway and both of us ended up really itchy. To top it off they charged us a $60 spa fee and so far will not refund it. If a hot tub is important to you, skip this place.

Vacation stay

Was a very nice town and the hot tub was a must after some great hikes. Do recommend adding black out shades however, it stays light so long.

Once Found Property Was Great

No signage. No directions as to how to locate property. We drove around and around for an hour trying to find the chalet. Thankfully, we found a workman and he pointed through the dense trees and past other chalets to point out a portion of an orange door that he said was #8, our chalet. Once you took the boardwalk to the chalet, the #8 was visible, but it wasn't at all until you were right there. Once found, the property itself was great.

Poor communication, no media player, leaky faucets, upstairs with poor insulation.

I would not rent here again. I made multiple attempts to contact the host of the property without getting a reply. Very disappointed with this overall experience. I spoke with two Vacasa agents about an overnight prescription that I needed mailed to the address, and they were not able to put me in contact with the host of the property even despite those circumstances. Not helpful.

Good location for skiing and good size for 2 couples, but.....

Good location for walking to the slopes. We did have a couple issues though. We tried for a week to contact the owner/manager but never got a response. We read a previous review explaining how the hot tub was half full, so we tried to contact the owner to make sure it was full, clean and up to temperature. We never heard from the owner so we contacted VRBO, which put us in touch with Vacasa about the issue. Vacasa promised they would send someone over to confirm it would be ready. Well...the hot tub was half full upon arrival. We also spent 20 minutes digging out the BBQ grill from a pile of snow. Once we got access to it we found that the propane tank was empty, so we couldn't cook our dinner.

Anniversary vacation

The cabin overall was perfect. Very cozy, comfortable and convenient. I personally would have liked to be more secluded but that's me. The host was awesome we first arrived I called in about the hottub water level was low it was addressed immediately. thank you vacasa for a wonderful stay we'll be back.

Cozy Chalet

Tons of space! Very cozy and tucked away. Loved the walkway to the front door. The rich plant growth made us feel like we were tucked into nature and more secluded. Felt like we were staying at a family cabin. Beds were very comfortable. The kitchen supplies are very well stocked for just about any meal. Looked like a bran new oven and stovetop. The grill was very nice and the hot tub got the job done! We look forward to our nstove top.

Very comfortable

The cottage was very nice overall, the kitchen was well stocked with pots, pans, and utensils. I was very disappointed as the dishwasher was broken and I had to hand wash dishes for each meal. There were lots of towels and extra for the hot tub. TV and the Internet were great. Thanks for a wonderful visit.

Nice get away

It was as the pictures show. A pretty cozy, older house, but over all just fine. The hot tub worked and that was awesome! I felt that the place could have been cleaner, but I have high standards. Walking distance to a few key places and restaurants. Overall it was a lovely visit.
