"The hotel is beautiful, the staff friendly and efficient, the food was freshly cooked, hot and tasty although the chips too greasy for me, I thoroughly enjoyed the hake, The room was very clean but unfortunately I struggled to sleep in the heat with no air conditioning or even a fan"

"We booked 2 sea view rooms for 3 nights. Only one room had a sea view and the bathroom in that room had black mould around the ceiling. The other room had a very old mattress and the bedding was old and thin. The pillows in that room were flat. We checked out after 1 night and will not be back. Whilst the staff were friendly, this hotel needs refurbishment, new mattresses, new duvets, pillows, blankets and linen. Mould is injurious to health and no hotel of the calibre that this hotel...

"We enjoyed everything at the hotel. The rooms are a bit dated but I didn't mind that too much - it added to the charm because everything worked absolutely fine (shower, TV, kettle). "The hotel facilities, the dining, the staff were all absolutely fine. The room, however, was on 2 levels with even a step down on entry. Awkward. It was situated at the front of the building over some sort of service room with a generator or boiler that emitted a constant drone all through the night. "We truly had an amazing stay at Balmers Lawn! We got a really good deal for Easter weekend, and it exceeded expectations on every level. The room was only classified as "standard" yet it was huge, lovely big bathroom, and they had put Easter Craft in the room for the kids. "Can not fault any aspect of two nights spent in the Burley Inn, nothing was too much trouble from all the staff we came into. Lorraine and Steve were particularly helpful, friendly and very polite. One very small negative point there was not a USB charging point in the room but a this was overcome by the staff providing a plug with a USB attachment.
