Learn more about Seaham

The dramatic coastal paths along Seaham's beaches reveal sea glass treasures and striking limestone cliffs worth exploring at low tide. Nose's Point offers spectacular views while Tommy, the famous war memorial statue, stands as a poignant reminder near the harbor.

Seaham Lighthouse in county Durham always gives a great show when the waves are crashing so I knew that I would have a chance to get something dramatic. Using a long lens from a distance helps to compress the waves and lighthouse making it even more dramatic but shooting at such a distance has its draw back due to all the moisture in the air which reduces the sharpness on the image. Not to mention the strength of the wind as it tried to thwart my attempts! Still, this location was defiantly the best of the day.
