"I booked this hotel as it is the only one in the area with a pool, however when I arrived I was told the pool was closed. This was very disappointing as I was not told at the time of booking and the room was non refundable. The rooms are very dated with small beds and limited amenities."
"Property needs work. Our room had marks on the walls, bathroom was mouldy and water would not drain away in the sink. Very disappointing. So glad we had only booked one night. Highlight of the stay was the male receptionist who booked us in, he was very friendly and welcoming."
"This is a period property with a lot of lovely features in the centre of Rye. However, it is letdown by a very slow service at breakfast. Breakfast is chaotic, with one very small table with yoghurt, granola some fruit and orange juice. Both mornings of our stay it was running very low and out of a number of things. Both mornings, I had to go and find staff to stock the table up and provide glasses for the orange juice. Staff are either inadequately trained or just not copying well.
The coffee...
"The room was dirty and had infestation of bed bugs , we also had been charged twice as the deposit did not get from Expedia.
This is the worst stay I have had at a hotel for many years I definitely would never stay or recommend this hotel ever."
"The room was lovely, the en suite was lovely, the fact that it was up two flights of stairs, not so good . My fault for not mentioning I don’t climb stairs well."
"Hotel easy to find. As you drive up, the grounds are spectacular. The hotel was beautiful, polite staff, food fairly priced and good. Our room was cleaned & when we returned it was spotless with a beautiful fragrant. So nice. I recommend the Bannertyne hotel highly. Thank you"
"Room not big enough for : suitcases
What floor space there was was taken by a free standing AC unit the size of a small bar refrigerator which roared like a 747
picking clothes for the day involved houdini like manoeuvres!"
"My room was spotless, quite large and very comfortable. TV was excellent with a good choice of channels. Hotel was probably one of the safest I have been to. I was in the annexe and you had to use your room keys to open numerous doors before entering your room. The two days I was there (Mon & Tues) unfortunately had the restaurnt closed on both nights.
Whenever I return to Tonbridge/Tunbridge Wells again, this is the hotely I will definitely choose."
