"Extremely disappointing stay. The room felt dirty, with sticky surfaces and a carpet that clearly hadn’t been cleaned properly. The overall condition was unacceptable. On top of that, the staff were unhelpful and unprofessional, which made the experience even worse. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone."

"The service was wonderful. The staff helped arrange things like taxis and a horse ride and made sure I got breakfast before an early morning tour (excellent scones!). They were especially accommodating on my last day when I was taking a late train, allowing me to shower and have a place to hang out for a little while in the late afternoon. The common areas feel historic but comfortable and well kept. The rooms are mostly updated but if you want a historic feel, be sure to request it. Pretty much all the rooms are a little different. There’s a lovely walled garden onsite and I got selfies with the Highland cows in the neighboring field. Just know that if you don’t have a car, it’s about a £12-14 cab ride from town. "

"The room was spotless, but the downside was that the room was cold. The heating did not seem to be on. The staff were very helpful and as my husband used a wheelchair, they were very attentive. There was a good selection of food for breakfast. The hotel was close by the railway station and amenities.We shall certainly return."

"Awesome breakfast menu. Highly recommend the Full Scottish. The fruit salad and cold breakfast buffet was lovely but if you arrive after 09:00h the pastries may all be gone!"

"Hotel is very outdated. Why are you still using carpets and they were not clean? Room had a weird odor and was obscenely HOT. Food was terrible! Parking was a nightmare. No amenities like complimentary water! Only positive is the location. NO THANK YOU!! So many other hotels I've stayed at and so much better!! "
