"This is my fourth stay at this complex, which says it all. Each time it excels in every way starting with a warm welcome, beautiful clean tidy and spacious room, great food, a swimming pool to die for (all quite shallow and child friendly) along with another pool, good entertainment both for kids and adults. "Serious Concerns: - Maid entered room even with "do not disturb" sign displayed - a couple small things went missing, but nothing major. The maid did mix our dirty clothes with clean clothes, mixed my significant other's clothes with mine, and went into her personal bag that had some medication and moved things. The front desk then lied about this saying no one entered even though our beds were made, clothes folded, etc. - AC or other person according to maintenance/security produced very strong cigarette odor on our last day while we were on a day trip to Malaga. Returned to find all of our clothes smelled like cigarettes. Woke up the next morning stuffy (likely due to second hand smoke because the smell was in the hallway of the same floor of the room we were moved to).Walked past the room the next morning and it still smelled like cigarettes (maid was scrubbing down the walls of both that room and the one beside it). - Had to fight with the front desk over the problems and they wouldn't provide a written statement validating the issues. They also made excuses (suggesting it was a kid who may have thrown the do not disturb sign under our door in the maid situation above. They have a camera in the hallway and wouldn't provide a status update for us) - Had to file a formal complaint on my final night when I should have been resting for a flight the next day (they refused my request to have security come to our room and validate the smoke smell... Limited and can't write more"

"THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I’ve ever experienced. Arrived at the hotel to be told I could check in without a passport, that a drivers licence wasn’t valid ID anymore- the manager even told me patronisingly to “check on ChatGPT!” Whilst the managers discussed our fate they told us to go get a drink at the bar “on them”. Then when we did that and handed over the voucher we’d been given the waitress told us that didn’t cover the drinks we had chosen- not that we have been prescribed which drinks to select, she was extremely rude and when the manager came over to tell her to explain the situation a full out argument in Spanish ensued. Quite unbelievable. The bottle blond middle aged bar lady (didn’t get her name) was so rude. I was told there was no way we could be checked in so I had to travel back to get the passports, nowhere on any of my booking information did it state that a passport was a requirement, zero effort was made to appease me or show and sympathy to the fact I had driven a long way with a young family. It was my first stay at the hotel and will be probably be my last unfortunately. I complained to the Company and they forwarded me to the Hotel Management team who I haven’t heard anything from - that was over a month ago. VERY DISAPPOINTING"

Leonardo Hotel Fuengirola Costa del Sol

10/10 Excellent

"Ideally located opposite the beach and marina, with supermarkets, shops and bars all within easy walking distance. We booked half board and, despite arriving after 10pm, were pleasantly surprised to find lovely plated salads and cheese boards waiting for us in the restaurant. The staff throughout the hotel were friendly, welcoming and engaging. There was entertainment in the bar each evening which seemed popular, although it wasn’t really our thing. Drinks in the bar were also very reasonably priced. The food was good overall with plenty of choice at meal times. The pool area is on the smaller side, but we never struggled to get sunbeds. Pool bar food was also good, with a varied menu and attentive service. We stayed in a Triple Deluxe Sea View room for three adults and it felt surprisingly spacious, with a good-sized balcony and large bathroom — although the sliding bathroom door was definitely more style over substance and slightly annoying! As we had an evening flight home, we were able to pay for a late check-out until 6pm, which was really helpful. The hotel also allowed us to store our luggage for an extra hour before we left for the airport. Overall, we had a really enjoyable stay. Great location, friendly staff and good value for money. We would definitely recommend the hotel and would happily return."
