"Our first impression of the Le Meridien Chanba Hotel in Xi'an was awe-inspiring due to its location, majesty, lights and modern look. However upon check-in, we had an issue as to whether or not the room was previously paid (it was previously booked and pre-paid) and if the room itself was ready - this took over 30 minutes to discuss and resolve. "Nice, contemporary hotel with well-appointed, contemporary rooms. The front desk staff we talked to knew very little English and when spoken to in Chinese, were not very helpful and generally confused when we asked for restaurant recommendations. Now, we understand that few Westerners probably stay at this hotel."
