"Clean room close to plenty of eating places "

"Great apartment that had everything we needed. Comfortable bed. Adequate cooking facilities for simple meals. There was also a dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer which we really appreciated! Unfortunately it rained for most of our stay so we couldn’t use the pool but the gym was good. We are really thankful to the reception staff who made sure we didn’t miss our bus when we left. We would definitely stay again! "

"We were disappointed when we arrived and learnt our room was not even on the Main Street that faces the marina. We were off the back street, obviously next to permanent residents. Our room was smelly, with old and damaged furniture. The pictures on Expedia are misleading as we had no view, we had old damaged furniture, and we were off the back road and nowhere Palmer Street. "I was upgraded to a harbour view room in building one from a car park view - so that was very grateful. But I more looked at an overgrown tree that obscured any Harbour view. The first door in building one to my door was humid and wet. Rusty stain running down the door on the inside. Room was two twin beds pushed together, but side tables not rearranged space wise so obvious they had just pushed the beds together. Booked on Expedia so no daily servicing of the room. "I have used the Holburn previously many times over the past 10 years. That is why I booked there this trip. I was really disappointed. The property is now very tired looking and in need of a complete refurbishment. My apartment had many cockroaches running around the unit so I had no choice but to put all food etc in the fridge at all times. Thank goodness there were cafes and eateries nearby. The reception staff seemed to keep strange irregular hours, so connecting with them was...

"Lovely 3-bed spacious apartment, gorgeous views - marina one side, the Strand the other. Best spot in Townsville! Great coffee only just a few steps away at the Marina cafe. Friendly & helpful staff with great communication. Really enjoyed our stay. "
