"We stayed 3 nights at the adjacent building Casa Amarela and we knew ahead of time that there would be steps to access the room- not a problem with that. However, our room is about a 5-6 minute walk from the reception and the main restaurant—not a problem unless you have luggage—- as the walk is a bit hilly. On arrival our luggage was brought to Casa Amarela via a golf cart- not us- luggage only and that helped. Upon departure they completely refused to transport the luggage to the reception...

Breakfast was fresh with a good selection each morning. The room was well maintained and the overall atmosphere was quiet and relaxing. A great base for visiting the Douro region and nearby attractions. Would happily stay again."

"We had a comfortable room with a patio overlooking the Douro River. Staff very friendly. The only negative from our point of view was the window from the shower into the room. The botton 2/3 rds are translucent and upper 1/3 clear. If a light is turned on in bathroom bedroom is lit up as well . Also the obvious privacy issues. Other than the the room , hotel , staff, bar and restaurant are great."
