"Beautiful property with a great wine tour. Breakfast was delicious as well and it had a nice bar. There are wild peacocks and pea hens running around and the spa has some unusual treatments. Loved this stay!"
"A great location with view on Douro River. The staff is very friendly. The hotel is very dated and AC wasn’t working. Staff offered to switch room or a fan… "
"Marco and Joana were extremely helpful and efficient. Although we never actually met them in person, we could feel that they were genuine in their desire to make our stay the best it could be"
"We had the most incredible experience! The staff, the food & drinks, and the grounds were all impeccable. We were blown away! Thank you so much for such a memorable stay and we will absolutely be back!!"
"Beautiful property and grounds, we really enjoyed our stay. They also had a great breakfast each morning and dinner options. Highly recommend to anyone staying in the Douro Valley. "
"Fabulous hotel - almost Belmond but not quite.
Rooms are excellent (must comfortable beds with down pillows). Breakfast is superb. Pool service a bit sporadic but overall the staff were wonderful. "
"We loved that we booked last minute and were in our room 30 mins later. Quaint, clean, comfortable and convenient, and the staff are really welcoming and helpful. "

"Beautiful space. Highly underrated. Will stay again."
"Beautiful property in the beautiful Douro Valley with a nice pool. There is no winery on site, but it is in the middle of beautiful vineyards. You can go down the road to Pinhao or to St. Eufemia Winery for a tour. Breakfast was great and the staff was very accomodating. Great price for a beautiful stay. The property would benefit from some more outdoor leisure areas to sit peacefully and enjoy the view other than the balcony of your room or the pool/deck. Lenore at the desk was very nice and very helpful."
"Accommodations 5* Food 5* Property & Amenities 5*
An inland riveria with what you would desire from a Michelin property.
The rooms and common areas are picturesque and should be visited by Arch Digest. Well appointed and furnished to relax the mind.
The staff is top notch. Not too assertive but very attentive and respectful.
The restaurant options have a nice variety from bar to Michelin. This is what you want. A kitchen that can provide delicious bites on the go and the more exquisite dishes for that special moment.
We personally, loved the breakfast and infinity pool in the mornings, property amenities during the day (gym, vineyard, spa), and bar/restaurant options in the evening. A beautiful oasis to call home base if you are looking to stay put in Douro valley or venture out into the countryside. ~ Cheers."

"Before we even arrived, we were impressed with the experience. Our bus was going to arrive prior to check in time and when I reached out to Amadeu to ask for luggage storage recommendations, he told us we could store at the house, which was so kind. Then he met us at the bus station to help us transport our bags and some of our party up to the house! He also had provided croissants, donuts, meats, cheeses, yogurts, etc. to help with breakfasts! All more than necessary but made us feel so welcomed into the house. Then the house itself was amazing! Clean, well supplied, with a deck with views that were so amazing, it instantly made us all feel relaxed and on vacation! We ended up spending much of our day on the deck rather than exploring the town soaking in the view and the ambiance. Would recommend this place and this host to anyone and we are already looking for excuses to come back! Thank you for making our vacation so memorable!"
"This is more like a hostel than a hotel. You're expected to make your own bed and keep your own room clean. However, it does provide a reasonable budget alternative to the upmarket river front hotels. "
