"Looks lovely but tragically run down.
Broken socket in room
Broken cafetiere taken down to reception for replacement and offered one that was dirty.
Pool was nice but the sauna had replacement slats in I don't think that they are the type of wood for saunas and the screw head were left proud so got extremely hot to touch.
The reception desk needs a tidy a lot of clutter behind it.
Didn't try the food or drinks."
"Craighaar is a lovely place to stay, i was a returning guest having stayed a number of times some years ago.
Staff are all very friendly and the food is great.
Proximity to TECA is great for venue access, Only negative which is a minor point is the proximity to the airport and the fact that the hotel is right in line of the runway."
"Superb stay from start to finish. Extremely helpful staff who were always friendly and approachable and actually looked like they were enjoying their job.
The executive lounge was lovely and offered a good selection of food and drinks.
A lovely room with a comfy bed and the chair by the window was sumptuous!
The only negative was an over bath shower (but I appreciate some people like a bath) and the odd mirror/plug situation that seems to exist in most hotels.
We had a fabulous stay and...
"I was completely shocked when we arrived and saw the state of this hotel. Run down, dirty, just unacceptable. There was supposed to be a dining room when I booked the rooms, but this closed between booking and arrival with no notice. I felt that the security of this place left much to be desired. Had to get the receptionist to show me how to lock the door ("old school: you have to pull the door towards you as you insert key into lock...!") As well, no screens on windows and windows left open to...
"Had a lovely stay at the Commercial Hotel in Tarland. Brilliant base to visit Tarland Trails, food was great and the staff couldn’t have been more welcoming and helpful!
Would definitely go back for another visit any time."
"Staff on the desk great however room very dated only 1 pillow hotel facility nice shower poor room cold and we eat at the restaurant and since eating there have felt very unwell "
"Enjoyed my stay! The washer/dryer was a bit confusing, and I wasn’t aware I’d be charged an additional fee for my power usage, but aside from that stay was great!"
"We stayed in one of the offsite casa style rooms which was perfect for our family (we were parents travelling with two teenagers). Room was clean and had all we needed for our two night stay. We appreciated the afternoon scones and tea in the main hotel. We were surprised that our rooms didn’t have any housekeeping between our first and second nights so I’m not sure if that was part of the casa room service or not but our request for addition towels was taken care of quickly!"
