"The room was run down but overall clean. The stairs were falling off of the cottage and needed to be nailed back on. The property did not look like what it showed on Expedia. It needed some TLC. The room was overall clean but certain parts were not. Our weather turned a bit cold while we were there and we wanted to turn on the heat but it was so dirty we chose not to. The location is great. The photo showed that the ocean was closer than it was- it was deceiving. Sadly I wouldnt recommend...
"We experienced a welcoming atmosphere from the moment we stepped into the check-in area. Kindred Spirits is located near Green Gables. We stayed in a large clean room in the Gateway building and there were multiple cottages in the facility, also. We appreciated using the laundromat right across from the check-in. Excellent breakfast with a variety of choices. The blueberry scones were delicious!"
"The property is conveniently located and maintained very clean. Property manager was very welcoming and helpful. Breakfast was good. Bathroom and bedroom were well maintained, however, the beds were not very comfortable. Other than the beds everything met or exceeded our expectation."
"Mark & Jing were gracious host and keep the hotel very clean. The room was beautifully decorated and clean. They thought of everything. The bed was very comfortable!
It was nice having the Tasiang Kitchen & Taps restaurant attached to the hotel in case you need to grab a bite to eat. The menu is limited but enough.
The Continental breakfast that Mark & Jing put out has a good variety to suit everyone’s needs.
We would definitely stay there again in a heartbeat!!"
"If you’re looking for a place to stay that’s close to concert venues, amusements parks, and restaurants outside the city then Avonlea Cottages is the go. If you’re ever short and in need of supplies, there’s a grocery store just across the street. As for the cottage itself, it’s pretty good for the price you pay, you basically get everything you need for a short or long stay. Only thing I would like to mention is that there’s no strong kitchen ventilation so if you plan on cooking inside, beware...
"Points that could use improvement; Unfortunately, same furnishings as when I stayed 20 years ago. So didn’t feel overly clean. Outdoor stairs not connected to patio, blankets etc also ild and do not feel the cleanest. Although the further down the hill the cottages are the better the view Cottage 3 is advertised as ocean view and it is not. Partial ocean peek if you sit on one corner of deck against the rail
