National Exchange Hotel
10/10 Excellent
"I spotted this hotel on a previous stay in Nevada City. For my second trip, I wanted to stay in the heart of downtown and The National Exchange did not disappoint. It's as rich in history as you'd expect and every detail within the hotel is well-preserved, from cozy, velvet furnishings to the exposed brick bathroom walls and high ceilings. I had a room on the second floor that opened to a sitting area, so I enjoyed reading out there. The balcony is a great place for the complimentary coffee and muffins, albeit a little chilly even for my August visit. I took plenty of time to explore, but settling back into my room each evening was a treat too creature comforts like soft linens and a mini-split. I loved my stay so much that I'm already booked for December's Victorian Christmas!"
Harmony Ridge Lodge
10/10 Excellent
"I love everything about Harmony Ridge! Comfortable rooms, beautiful property grounds, quiet. Cool folks! Delicious breakfast :)"
