"Room was lovely and clean and we had a modern bathroom. Staff were very friendly, food was excellent and service was great. Parking was easy and cheap (6 pounds I think) and the property is gorgeous. We had a room upstairs which was fantastic, our friends had one down the corridor which was different and not as nice. The only thing was the bed - it was extremely hard and impacted our ability to sleep well. If there was a topper or a different mattress I would stay again in a pinch, or just stay...
"Stayed for two nights as a stop over whilst going homeward. Wanted to have a look around the area.
Room was small but adequate. Clean with en-suite shower.
Ate in the dining area of the pub both nights and enjoyed the food. Informal but friendly service by all, and a nice relaxed atmosphere.
Recommend a walk to the canal and then the walk to Gloucester on the tow path. It’s well paved and flat and about three miles."
"Stayed in a basic room which was clean and comfortable but the bathroom door didn't shut properly and the taps on the bath were very stiff and hard to switch on and off.
The staff were very professional and the bar is large and comfortable seating"
"We had a very good short break in Ross on Wye!! The area has a lot to offer.. we were particularly impressed with choice of excellent restaurants within walking distance from the hotel!! The staff were very friendly and accommodating! The breakfast was very good and the room was perfect for us offering a separate bedroom in their family suite."
"Room was nice and clean. The bathroom has clearly been redecorated recently. The bowl of retro sweets is a nice touch. The staff are all friendly and helpful. I'm not a natural bar person, but the clientele are all adults and wouldn't look out of place in a wine bar, so the atmosphere is quite civilised. The choice and quality of the breakfast is excellent and could probably give Simpson's in the Strand a run for their money. This is my sixth visit, so I guess I will have to recommend the place."
"Great location about 10 minutes drive into the City.
Large, clean room with tea, coffee etc and fresh milk in fridge & bottled water too.
Quirky room as part of an old pub so floors a little uneven and steepish staircase to get to rooms, but didn’t detract from the stay.
Breakfast was delicious and staff all extremely friendly & helpful.
As it’s a pub, you are obviously aware of noises from the pub during the day and evening but as soon as it closes, it’s very quiet."
"The rooms were spacious, clean and well maintained; dinner and Sunday lunch were excellent; breakfast was spectacular. All the staff were efficient and friendly. Thank you."
"Unfortunately we weren’t able to stay at the place we booked as my booking was lost and they were full.
So cannot really review. One star given based on my booking being lost."
"Excellent location, always a warm welcome for us and our 2 furry babies. The staff are always lovely and really friendly. The meals are really good and it's always packed with atmosphere. We love it! Definitely be back. 👍"
"The room was clean and comfortable- bed a bit low and no armchair to sit in. Dinner and breakfast were excellent. Staff were helpful and very friendly"
