"We arrived after an 80 mile bike ride and were eager to get a shower and a good meal. The team were expecting us and had the key ready; check-in was very welcoming and efficient. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. Despite the restaurant being very busy (Saturday 8pm) our meals came without delay and were hot, hearty and very tasty. Wouldnt think twice about staying again next time we're in the area."

"Generally a good experience, but with reservations. A hotel of character, much nicer than bland city tower blocks, but ready for overall refurbishment. Very un-green: no double glazing anywhere I saw. Room cleaning skimpy - glass shelf over sink always left unwiped, tea provisions not topped up adequately, bath not wiped round. "The property is an adapted farmhouse set in Fields fronted by a large pond with ducks, moorhens and other wildlife. It has easy access to marked walking paths. Our room was at the top of the building and one of the most expensive with a separate seating área off the bedroom. Breakfast was adéquate rather than special but we were there with no other guests. Décor is functional and comfortable. The B&B would be fine for short stays but might be a bit basic for longer holidays"

"Borthwen b&b is a fantastic place to stay. Colin and Lisa were such kind and caring hosts and nothing was too much trouble. It was my partners birthday and they even put a birthday candle on his breakfast, he was thrilled to bits! The b&b was spotless, quiet and very comfortable, and the view from there is spectacular. The room was spacious and beautifully decorated. The breakfast was probably the best I've ever had and they were able to provide me a vegetarian option which was much appreciated....
