"The hotel was excellent from check in to check out. Staff were friendly and efficient. Nothing was a bother to them.
Breakfast was worth getting up for. Delicious and plentiful. Room was more than expected. Clean and well equipped.

"Check in was easy, friendly staff, room decor was lovely, clean bedding. Parking was perfect and surroundings are beautiful. Had a beautiful breakfast too. Only negative was quite a few wood louse running round the bathroom, kept slippers on but may put you off if squeamish."
"Great place on the Cornwall/Devon border, equidistant from the stuff you can do in the Southwest. The food they serve is great, as is the staff I interacted with. An EV charger in the same parking area is very helpful, as well. I was surprised that my single room didn't have a TV. The water pressure and heat when trying to shower were never consistent (but usually okay). While not a comment about this hotel, know that this area doesn't have much for stuff to do. "All of the staff we came into contact with were friendly and helpful. We ate at the pub and the food was good sized portions and of a good quality. The breakfast was particularly good!
The room was quirky and of a good size.
Overall, we would highly recommend staying at the Hoops Inn."

"We had a lovely one night stay. The room was so cute and cosy “13” it was like stepping back in time but with modern amenities. The bed was super comfortable. I had a great nights sleep.
Dinner was lovely,as was the breakfast. Staff we friendly and very accommodating. Only downside was that it’s very dog friendly in all areas. Something we aren’t used to in Australia, where they are banned from most places unless they are service dogs. I highly rate the passion fruit cocktails."
"Overall nit too bad. Car parking was an issue and we had booked a table for two for my husband's birthday dinner and they committed to tell us they had a full house with a quiz on that evening. We had to get elsewhere. The owner was not very accommodating at all."
"Shower was great (if small) and the homemade shortbread was a nice little touch my son enjoyed as part of his breakfast.
The breakfasts were also really good. They were very flexible on items on the full English and the ingredients were good quality with proper sausages, thick bacon and thick slices of good bread.
The two women working there were great and the service was excellent though. They told another guest they only took it on last year and are doing it up but they need to either do it...
