"Location and view from our room fantastic. On checking in we were not informed by reception that if we wanted our room served that we had to ask !!!!!!No disabled toilet facility on ground floor and only one lift working which was very inconvenient in busy times. I had to access my mobilty scooter through Dining room to get out of the Hotel. Not nice for myself or the Diners .Rooms very spacious but tired. We were moved from original room on 1st floor as shower did not work and the bath did not...

"I phoned to upgrade my room no available rooms so I asked to cancel for a full refund which they agreed and I never received my money back.. very un helpful and very hard to contact a human on the phone.. not recommended in any shape or form.."

"As other reviews have said the property is old and creaky and furnishings and carpets could do with being updated. The hotel is right next to the castle, pubs, restaurants and-supermarkets and is a great location. It’s a shame really as it could be really nice if a bit of TLC was added to the rooms and especially the entrance which really needs attention. Another Plus is the staff are really nice."

"Trains were cancelled due to an incident & we found ourselves stuck. The Cavendish came up on expedia as a good rating & so we booked 2 rooms. The staff were unwelcoming & unhelpful. "Room was clean and tidy on check-in but because it was very hot the room had no AC but they supplied a fan that did nothing to keep it cool. The staff were lovely and very helpful. The bar was well stocked and had all the drinks I needed. Breakfast was delicious and being a vegetarian the vegan full breakfast even included my favourite vegan black sausage. We had dinner in the restaurant which excellent and the waiting staff were attentive."
