"The breakfast was a let down- the coffee was burnt- the meat (ham/ sandwich meat) had been sitting out for hours, and was warm. The shower door was about to fall off and there was a lot of mold in the bathroom. It seems that they take care with the gardens and hot springs, but just quickly wipe down and change the sheets and towels in the cabins- no regular maintenance is done on the cabins. "Highly recommend – a truly wonderful experience! This property is very well maintained, with super comfy beds that made for great sleep every night. It was an amazing experience overall! The staff were great and super helpful—always ready to assist with a smile. I especially loved the facilities; everything was top-notch and added so much to the stay. Will definitely be back!"

"The hotel is clean , staff is nice, it is close to arenal national park, Tabacon hot springs, awuwaki (sushi), Raman restaurant, el novillo restaurant, the problem is we are given the room #1 which happens to be room with large gap between the door and its frame on both the top and bottom, we see bugs inside the room. After talking with the front desk, we were able to switch to a different room , room 14 which is clean with great view of the arenal, I would recommend the hotel but not room #1"

"Our stay at Hotel Lavas Tacotal was overall a really enjoyable experience, with a few areas that could be improved. The highlights were definitely the incredible views of Arenal Volcano — waking up to that scenery was unreal.
