"Welcomed by a lovely, helpful lady, unfortunately I didn’t get her name. She took us next door and showed us where our room was, we had a twin room on the top floor, it was immaculately clean, very comfortable beds and bathroom very clean with toiletries supplied.
Small private car park to rear of hotel, which is locked 10pm-7am. Bus stop directly outside into the town, or a 10 min walk.
Would definitely stay again when in Cardiff."
"Awesome staff, the most welcoming and helpful that I have ever experienced (even in higher rated hotels).
Really in the Center of the city so everything was within walking distance."
"I loved the location and staff. The rooms were small but well stocked and comfortable. The second room we rented only had a sink -the toilet and shower facilities were in the hallway but it didn’t seem to be much of an issue unless you awake several times a night.
A hidden surprise that we found out about by mistake…there is a walking path just outside the hotel entrance “behind the restaurant” (take a left) that leads to a beautiful trail and meanders to the road near the bay."
"Close to the city centre. Very run down and tired. Bed was possibly the most uncomfortable I’ve experienced. The windows onto the loud road are single glazed and don’t close properly. Thankful I was only using the hotel for 1 night."
"Beautiful old building with great views. Heck of a climb to the top floor where our rooms were. No lifts and no help with bags. The mattresses were horrible - on all 3 beds. Afraid to speak with manager who checked us in - not friendly at all. Barked at my daughter when she asked for WIFI password (which was not given to us on registration). It was written on a piece of paper at his desk and she was told to read it herself. She thought it was funny how grumpy he was - but I was less than...
"Everything fine for a one night stop over, pub close by for a night cap.
Only thing that spoiled it for me was the selfish people who arrived at 3.30am making a right racket. Not sure why people can’t be more considerate, but that’s a human problem not the accommodations problem!!"
"Street is missing a trick. The town is crying out for a great, modern hotel with the facilities to challenge what is currently available - it would be an absolute winner.
I chose Mullions simply because of the limited options for overnight stays in the area.
Unfortunately, the room itself was incredibly tired. I was met with broken furniture, dusty bedside surfaces and lamps, and a distinct smell of damp in the bathroom. Worse still, while the towels appeared clean, they carried a noticeable...
"Excellent stay our room so spacious everything you could want and more. Staff friendly and engaging overall great value for money ideally located for Cheddar Gorge first class walk Axbridge stepped in history all in all a great stay"
"Stayed here for one night, Hotel is good value and good location, about a 15 min walk from Stapleton Road Train Station or a 5 min walk from Bus stop, staff are great."
"Our stay at the Royal Clarence Hotel was wonderful! The staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel was clean and conveniently located to be able to walk to most places!"
"Normal a cheap room doubled in price because of concerts. Over a gyros shop, which is has decent food and a discount for residents. Property is in need of redecoration , carpets etc… and can be noisy on the street side with single glazed windows. Shower leaked .. cold water tap loose .. tv remote not working ….a bit uncared for , BUT the bed and bedding was clean and towels ok.
For a normal one night stay it’s ok"
