"Couldn't stay as when I arrived the lights were out with no one inside except a noisy parrot , phone number was unreachable. Walked inside the hotel complex looking for a sign of life only to find dirty corridors with light fixtures hanging from the ceiling. Was a completely different experience to what was advertised. Waiting on refund after driving 3 hours to disappointment."

Walking distance everything you need.
Good pubs and restaurants and of course Cathedral and castle.
Breakfast was excellent with amazing views.
Parking is a little bit of tricky."

"I booked this particular travel lodge as it was close to Sundown Adventureland but whilst already at Sundown, a friend had a look on google maps to see if there was anywhere to eat, during that time they informed me it was a truck stop, which had I known, being a single female with my young daughter, I would not have chose to stay here.

"Avoid this place! Rooms were dirty there was mould all over the bathroom couple of weed smokers were in other rooms and it smelled disgusting we didn’t even spend more than 20 minutes there and they didn’t give a refund. "
"Strange share house kind of arrangement. When we arrived someone seemed to be cooking in the kitchen which was very cluttered. The towels were oversized hand towels we found in the wardrobe. There were a pair of thongs under the small desk and a tshirt in the draw. The bed was very soft."

You pay for what you get. Suited for an overnight stay for a wedding but no longer. No service as such....but clean towels, fridge and kettle. Take your own milk and plan breakfast locally..10 minute drive to Retford.
