"We have stayed here several times and had an enjoyable stay, unfortunately this stay was spoilt by other guests who were either outside the hotel or in the lobby, clearly drunk and being disruptive, singing, talking loudly and making comments to other guests who were arriving and leaving - a couple of times this almost led to other guests taking offence and arguing with them. This went on all evening and on to about 3 in the morning when they went noisily back to their rooms - even after that...

The air conditioning either didn’t work or was completely ineffective, and the room felt like a sauna all night. I wasn’t able to sleep at all, which completely ruined my stay. "The Croft Hotel is in a very quiet location but a short bus journey or drive from the city centre and ideally located for the De Montfort Hall. "It had everything we needed. Bed was comfy. Bedding and towels were clean. There was a shelf unit that was about to collapse and the blinds were knackered and discoloured.

The room looked fine in the photos but fell short in person. We were on the ground floor and arrived to a strong smell of cigarettes - the throw blanket had a burn hole in it, suggesting a previous guest had smoked despite the advertised £100 fine. There was pink staining on the shower floor and the only chair had a broken spindle on the back - when I went to move it, the top rail separated entirely from the remaining spindles and I had to pop it back...
