"I booked this place because we desperately needed somewhere to stay for easy travel to Wembley. I was a bit uncertain about the reviews but honestly this place is fine. It's not incredible, but the staff were genuinely really nice and friendly, it's an easy 5-10 min walk from the train station, the rooms are run down and not that aesthetically pleasing but we found the bed wasn't too bad, and it was clean. Noise carries between rooms but even though the hotel was full we got good sleep. It felt...

"Despite the construction/roadwork being done outside, the room was quiet at night. No air conditioning but the shades and fan made the room comfortable for sleeping. There is a lovely garden out back where we sat for breakfast. Less than 1 block from rail station and a very easy walk to downtown Oxford. We were able to leave luggage there much of our last day while we continued to explore the town. It was very handy to then walk to the train and head to the next destination"

"Great old building, bedroom spacious, , super clean with lovely bedding. All staff were friendly& helpful. It's a very old pub with a nice atmosphere where people of all ages meet. As an older woman on my own I felt perfectly comfortable in the bar areas having a drink by myself. That's rare these days. The only downside was that, luke so many British hotels there was no fridge in the room . I feel a fridge should be standard these days!!! Also the hall areas could do with a bit of tkc. Overall...

"Upon arrival and viewing our rooms; we actually chose to forfeit our prepaid booking and paid a much higher rate for last minute booking at another hotel. No air conditioning, no elevator and one of our rooms was on the 4th floor (difficult with luggage), the smell was stale and the rooms were in bad shape."

However the moment we checked in we went to the spa where the cryotherapy was broken and we couldn’t order any refreshments as the lady said she couldn’t leave her post. We waited for over an hour and half for dinner and there was no advice on things to do on activities."

"Stayed in room 3 for 2 nights, the room was clean and modern, but the tv didn’t have a remote control available and when a replacement was provided the tv still wouldn’t work. Thats why I’ve given 4 stars and not 5."
