"Excellent functional hotel in the heart of Nottingham. Lace Market car park is opposite the hotel and there is a discount to normal prices by validating in hotel reception. Location of the hotel is literally 2 minutes from an area full of retail and bars/restaurants. We have previously stayed slightly outside city centre but this was a real find. "the hotel has recently changed hands and so is in somewhat a state of flux and thus in need of improvement. Likewise the buildings are in need of repair. My room was clean and tidy, though without air conditioning on one of the hottest days of the year took some time to cool down to allow sleep. I wasn't prepared with a costume in order to enjoy the pool. The barman was helpful and chatty and the abbot ale was welcome. It was, for the price paid, perfectly reasonable value for money.
