Service - At no point during our stay did I ever have to search for an answer. Thoughtfully designed, in a thoroughly relaxed location, made even better by literally the entire staff who made us feel welcome. No notes. A perfect stay.

Great boutique hotel to stay at in Playa la Ropa. Rooms were huge with a nice lounge area and came with AC for the hot humid Zihua days

We enjoyed our stay in this beautiful Casita emensely. The view overlooking Zihua Bay was spectacular. Morning breakfast was both varied and tasty. Very short walk to La Ropa beach. About one mile walk to center of town or taxis readily available.The staff was welcoming, always and helpful. There are 5 large bedrooms in this facility. After the four other occupants, that were there when we arrived left, we had the whole place to ourselves.would HIGHLY recommend this lodging.

The location is great with a short 10-15 minute walk to town either by surface street along the canal or the path along the water. Rooms are rustic and comfortable with private deck, hammock, fridge, coffee maker, daily maid service providing bottled water and even nightly turn down service where they replace the flower petals on your bed with something like coconut macaroon cookies. in the afternoons there was a bottle of tequila out for sampling in the lobby. I wanted a nice, quiet environment where I could relax without the hustle and bustle a typical beach environment brings. I didn't want vendors bothering me every few moments nor share a beach with 200 other strangers. This is why Capella was an excellent choice! The rooms with a private-edge infinity pool are a must for couples wanting to relax by the pool with a nice drink in hand. We will be back!

Every single member of the staff was friendly, respectful, considerate, and earnest. I have stayed at luxury hotels all over the world, including in Hawaii, and I have never come across a more caring staff. The attitude toward the guest is "this is your home." And when you are there you feel like part of a small family. I wish I had taken more pictures of the staff & I. A very special thanks to Edgar, Huber, and David.

I loved the calmness, peacefulness and Resort-type atmosphere. The staff provided A-1 customer service in the restaurant, in the beach and pool area. Everyone was very accommodating! My suite was a promotion, which was great, but I was very surprised to find out that when I checked out I was charged a 3% lodging tax, 16% sales tax, 7% service charge, 8% Resort fee. Place was amazing. Nice little boutique hotel. Close to beach and a handful of restaurants.

This property was amazing we wanted to get away and relax and that’s exactly what we did. The restaurant was so good, all the staff were super accommodating and friendly. The only thing I would say is that it is far from anything and we weren’t really informed of any activities that were offered outside of the property

We spent seven full nights at Portofino and it was truly serene. Three things stood out: 1) The staff. Our servers E and A were truly amazing. Sometimes there was a language barrier, but it was more entertaining than a negative. As a US resident visiting a foreign country I don't expect our hosts to automatically speak english and it was actually more authentic to wade through some back and forth. This is a beautiful property at the far north end of Trocones and on the edge of Manzanillo beach. Wonderful rooms each have an outdoor sitting room. The ocean views are fabulous, but the ones by the pool looked nice, too. Gorgeous decor and creative outdoor showers. We had good food in the small restaurant. This is definitely much higher quality than the price would indicate. Extremely peaceful. Trocones town still has an authentic feel, in spite of the tourism. The beach is beautiful.
