"We spend 4 days in Zhangjiajie/Wulingyuan. The hotel was perfect. Walking distance to park entrance. The hotel staff was very friendly and always helpful. (Forgot my mobile charger and they gave me one for the whole stay) Especially Joanna (English speaking) helped us a lot with transfers etc. The breakfast is a good mix of western and Chinese food. We also ordered food for room service, it was very good. The rooms are very big and the beds are spacious. "

"The hotel is amazing, great staff and excellent food. It is in walking distance to the entrance of the park. The tricky piece is getting there! The road to that entrance of the park is a dirt bumpy road with lots of twists and turns; one that will jar you around for sure But once you get there you’re welcomed by a wonderful staff and a great little hotel. The room that we had had a beautiful view of the mountains."

However, it is very rundown - I'm not talking about faded elegance - I'm talking about neglect and poor management. It is very conveniently located to both the airport (10 minutes by taxi) and the cable car stop for Tianmen Mountain (10 minutes walking or 3 by taxi).
