"The bedroom was clean and well equipped. I would have liked a comfortable chair to sit in rather than hard backed dining chairs however, this did not impact on my stay, only the ability to knit. We had dinner in the dining room, serviced by fantastic staff. The food was amazing, both my husband and I thoroughly enjoyed the meal. Breakfast was buffet style, we would have like fried eggs as opposed to scrambled and neither of us liked the sausages, otherwise enjoyable. We did not use the bar so can’t comment. The hotel location is beautiful, the grounds well maintained. We would consider using the hotel again in the future"

"I love the location of this hotel, since it’s only about 1/3 of a mile from the train station, yet very quiet. Also convenient for a walk on the city walls. The entire facility seemed very clean, including, of course, our room. Staff that I met all behaved in a helpful, responsive, professional manner. The breakfast was a well-prepared full breakfast served buffet style. The only things that were “off” during my stay were in the fitness center, where the functional trainer was missing a handle and the small Swiss ball had a dirty/stained looking surface, but I must confess that I failed to mention either of these things to anyone."

"Decent hotel. Very central if you are intending to spend time exploring York. Staff were very helpful. Breakfasts are ok. But definitely recommend the pies for an evening meal. Room was functional, tidy, bed was comfortable."

"Lovely hotel with good facilities. Staff were friendly and helpful. I traveled to York by train, so the location of this hotel next to the station was perfect for me. I would definitely stay at this hotel again."

"This was a nice place to stay for a night in York. It is about a 10 minute walk to the train station, and a quick walk across the river to the heart of town. There are also plenty of shops and restaurants within a short walk. The room was good sized and clean and comfortable. The bathroom was very nice. Very good full English breakfast buffet. The only issue was that it didn't have AC and the room got very hot. We could open a window which worked nicely, but on the other side of the river is a night club that was very loud, so we couldn't keep the window open because of the noise. All we had to cool us off was a fan which worked ok, but not great. It was a Friday night, so that was probably worse than other nights with the noise. It was still a nice place."

"The hotel is located in the center of the city, close to University buses and 5-7 min walk to Shambles. The property looks like new and our large room with huge shower on the 3rd floor was clean. Stuff was friendly and very helpful. We have not eaten in the restaurant, since there are a lot of options close to the hotel. Nice touch was the machine that would allow us to reserve the Uber or reserve the activities around the city."
