Positives - Good location for York; great showers and comfortable bed. Negatives - only breakfast option is continental breakfast served in room, though room facilities to do this minimal. No communal space for a drink etc other than a small unwelcoming area between the front door and the reception hatch, which offered a very small range of self serve drinks. More a place to sleep than a place to stay.

Our 2nd stay at The Jorvik. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Rooms are comfortable and spotlessly clean with an excellent shower. We chose not to have a breakfast tray as there are plenty of eating options nearby. The minibar was very well stocked.

Short walk from railway station so didn't need to park. Excellent location, central to the shopping area, visiting the museum, Abbey, Minster etc. Directly opposite the beautiful museum park lovely walk through to the central area. Beautiful, characterful building, lovely and clean. Handy fridge in room well stocked with drinks and snacks. Lovely decor and furnishings with added throws, cushions etc. Wonderful staff, nothing to much trouble, very welcoming and helpful, especially with directions. Peaceful. Didn't require breakfast, as we ate out, which suited us fine. Able to leave bags if you arrive early and depart late. Would definitely recommend this accomodation. Wouldn't have thought it was suitable for young families or people with difficulty walking as there are a lot of stairs to climb from our experience which wasn't a problem for us.

Very lovely welcome to a historic and plush, cosy stay at Jorvik House for a post Christmas getaway. Everything fantastic, only mimor gripes that Yorks parking might be a tad cheaper, perhaps there are cheaper ones than the conveniently located Marygate car park a stones throw away.

Check in was a very pleasant experience. We took advantage of the luggage check and on return to the hotel for check in our bags had been delivered to our room. We were even showed to our room, a nice touch. Room was very clean and the bed comfortable. A million dollar view from our room across a quiet street. Would definitely stay again.
