"Well-designed hotel with a lovely interior throughout. The location is excellent too – it’s on a new development just outside the city centre, and hopping on a Voi scooter into town was quick, easy and quite possibly the most fun I’ve had obeying traffic laws. The bedrooms are also great, the breakfast buffet was excellent, and overall it’s a place I’d happily stay again. However… there is one issue. The bar staff called time at 10:30pm. 10:30pm. On. A. Saturday... I wasn’t asking them to recreate Ibiza in 1999. I simply thought a second pint while watching the World Cup on a warm summer evening in the lovely outdoor seating area wasn’t an outrageous request. Perhaps I’m showing my age, but I’d always considered 10:30pm to be the point where an evening begins to gather momentum. Everything else was superb. Just don’t expect the nightlife to extend beyond the end of The One Show."

"Great place to stay. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The shower is powerful and hot as you want it and the aircon actually worked, which is a rarity these days! Comfy bed and pillows too. The only improvement the hotel could make for me would have been to have a fridge in the room. Can’t fault it otherwise."

"The staff were so kind and helpful when I arrived, and helped me with my luggage and suggestions for how to get to the city center. The hotel was clean, cool, and quiet, exactly what I needed. It was so easy to get there from the station, too. The cafe was great for snacks and drinks, and local amenities were perfect for light meals. The only down side was they had run out of ice and it was very hot, so ice would have been nice. I will certainly use this hotel again."

"Lovely place convenient for Cambridge room was clean and comfortable exceeding our expectations for the price We did not use the pool and thought having to pay extra for pool and parking seemed a bit strange Instructions and info prior to visit was very good or saying no shampoo etc but it would of been helpful to know that the gates opened automatically if you drive close enough to them"

"The only negative was the shower door, the hinge creaking and the bottom of the door and surround needed the calcium removing. Apart from that the stay was perfect and we will be back. Thanks to all of the staff."

Orton Hall Hotel & Spa

"We had a family bedroom with two beds in a quite spacious room above reception. The room was ok but a little tired. Hotel is on the outskirts of Peterborough and we stayed there for easy access to Burghley house and Stamford Village which are 20 to 30 minute drive away. Hotel is quite close to the A1 and also there is a heritage railway nearby. Breakfast was good and was set in the older part of the house. I guess it’s often use for wedding functions because the older part of the house looks very nice. Good facilities with spa, pool and gym. Also part of the hotel grounds was a pub with food. Overall a good stay for one night."

"The room was excellent, the staff were friendly and very helpful, the shop was a little expensive but nothing you wouldn't expect from a hotel and the selection of goodies was just right. Breakfast was delicious and the location perfect! Just wish we could have stayed longer! Will definitely be going back! The only thing to mention is to be warned of ridiculous parking costs! Nothing to do with the hotel as car park was managed separately, but we parked for just under 24 hours and it was £53! Highly recommend the Wilde 👍"
