"We loved the Hotel Had everything we needed. The only wee things we noticed were dirty windows, but we understand the magnitude of cleaning them and that CHCH has a lot of construction happening around the CBD. There were threads where carpet had frayed between the carpet and bathroom. That area is quite hard on feet, but the complementary slippers helped. We loved how central it was, very accessible, friendly and helpful Staff. All the personal touches were really appreciated. 10/10 overall. Would definitely stay again and recommend to others. "

"Recently-renovated facility close to central Christchurch with reasonable prices. The rooms and common areas were clean, and the location is very walkable. Would be nice if the doors closed more quietly. Despite being "shared bathroom" in principle, the bathrooms were just right next to our room and didn't seem heavily contended."

"After spending 3 weeks touring New Zealand in a motorhome we dropped it off and headed to the George Hotel. It seemed like heaven,large room,very comfortable bed and we were met by friendly helpful staff. The following day we had to get to the airport but the roads were closed because of the marathon going past the hotel,they offered to help with bags to a place that the taxi could pick us up. Lovely little gingerbread bears and chocolates left in room on return from our meal. If we are ever in Christchuch again would definitely return."
