"This was our 3rd visit to Lumley Castle & it was just as great as previous ones. We wanted a relaxing break & it was exactly that. The staff were excellent & nothing was too much trouble. I do have one suggestion however regarding the bar menu. The library bar is a nice alternative to the restaurant especially if you just want a drink but we would have liked to enjoy some snacks to enjoy with our drinks but the only choices were pork scratchings & olives, no crisps or nuts. We also would have liked some ighter healthier meal choices eg. Caesar salad rather than the heavier choices of meat pie, burgers & fish n chips which were not our choice as the weather was very warm. The restaurant food however was excellent if a little pricey. Overall we enjoyed our stay very much & hope to return very soon. "

"The hotel property is quite unique set in a former council building especially the bar and restaurant which are located in the former council chambers. The most striking feature of the hotel however is the excellent service provided by all of the fantastic staff. The location is unbeatable allowing you to easily explore the city centre and the river walk. Many excellent restaurants and coffee shops are within 500 yards and the city attractions are very walkable from the hotel. "

"We had an amazing stay at the Manor House Hotel and Spa. We specifically wanted to stay in the historic house itself, and it did not disappoint. We stayed in Room 37, which, while traditional in style, was full of character—including a charming hidden bathroom that added to the unique experience. Every member of staff we encountered was exceptionally polite and friendly, making us feel truly welcome. The spa was clean and well-maintained, with robes provided upon entry and secure lockers with keys for convenience."
