"This place was perfect for our family of four after a day at Universal Studios. It’s a great value and convenient for folks with a car who still want some walkable options. The Ovation mall area was great and easy to get to. It is downtown Hollywood, so of course you’ll see some homeless in the area. We felt super safe and weren’t bothered. It reminded us of staying in Europe - a big international traveler presence and no frills (bring your own soap/shampoo, etc.). It was a great low cost option for a short stay, and the staff was great. "

"Rooms were clean and staff were helpful and friendly. Great location on walk of fame. Hotel is starting to show a little bit of its age with damaged woodwork around bathroom doors but all in all is still great and woujd happily stay here again. "

"The hotel was so nice, very clean, nice staff, good food at the Bistro, nice little lounge,...and best of all, access to the famous Safari Inn pool. I would stay there again. Location is great. 20 minutes from Universal Studios. It's well maintained to keep its original old charm. We seriously loved it!"

"We booked two king bedroom suites for our family of four. We were in town for Universal studios. The hotel was beautiful and very clean. The rooms were perfect and way more spacious than I had expected. Room service was fast and the food was wonderful. Will definitely recommend this little gem to others."

"Amazing gentlemen at the front when we checked in. Very nice and helpful about getting to Universal on the shuttle instead of walking up and down the hill! Rooms are cozy. Felt kinda safe walking back at 2 am. Not as sketchy as you'd think. Good value compared to the area."

"Too noisy for us. You hear road noise all night along with conversation form the neighboring rooms, as if their in the same room as you. We didn't use any ammenities since it was just an overnight stay for a play. That was very convenient. Some repairs need to be done in the room and the bathroom had a odd smell resembling a skunk."
