"We stayed at The Grand Hotel Eastbourne for a family birthday trip in early July. The building itself is grand and the location is lovely, but a few things fell short for a 5-star property. The bath wasn't as clean as I'd expect, and the carpets in our room looked quite dated. For the price point, I was expecting a more polished finish throughout. We were also overcharged on our bill, which was frustrating to sort out. Nice enough stay overall, but it didn't quite live up to the 5-star billing."

"The hotel had no air con, but fan was given on request. Staff polite and happy to help. Plumbing was questionable. Showers were adequate, but water pressure not good. Heard a couple of other guests complaining they had no cold water to fill a kettle, and no water for shower. Our bath was very slow in draining water, with water still in the bath the following day. Breakfast was good, however, dining places often missing salt, pepper and items of cutlery. Waiting staff seemed inexperienced, but...

"Lovely aparthotel, very clean in a perfect location just about 12-15 mins to town and even closer to the beach, staff members were very accommodating and friendly. Overall we had a lovely and relaxed stay after our long walk through to Birling Cap and Beachy Head."

"The Hotel da Vinci's location was excellent, both for the seafront and for the theatres, heading into the centre of town for the restaurants and bars. Howard Square was nicely off the beaten track, very quiet with onstreet parking for which the hotel offered guests complimentary permits. My room was huge, if a little 'tired", decoratively speaking, but everything was very clean. Very happy with my stay, thank you!"

"There was nothing I liked. It was rundown & in need of refurbishment. My bathroom was dirty and the carpets had stains all over them. The lift didn’t work & I was on the third floor. I would never recommend it & it spoilt my stay in Eastbourne."

The shower didn't work, but reception got someone to fix it at some speed. There was a relatively new carpet and a really comfortable bed, but there were a few cracks in the bathroom sink that needed repair and the paintwork was a bit tired. "We zijn eerder weggegaan omdat de kamer zeer slecht was. De kamer rook muffig en we kregen allebei last van onze keel. Kennelijk is er sprake van een flink vochtprobleem. Op de gang vlakbij de kamer zaten flinke lekkage plekken. Daarnaast was de vloerbedekking viezig (vlekken op verschillende plekken), deed de ventilator het niet en is het verfwerk erg slecht. Ook bij de entree ziet het hotel er smoezelig en slecht onderhouden uit. De lift is erg krap, en de andere lift werkt niet. De foto's...
