"Arrived quite late but was met with a very friendly welcome, was shown where everything was and allocated our room, popped Down to the bar which was good, prices ok, room was clean but we had a broken side table and no chair, comfy bed, bathroom was spotless. parking was good, breakfast was excellent and overall would definitely go back and would recommend. "

"Martyn was a very welcoming and helpful host. The apartment was very clean and well equipped plus there was tea coffee sugar bread butter and milk ready for us in the fridge when we arrived.The situation in the Old Town of Hastings was great offering lovely pubs, cafes and quirky shops.The walk to the beach was just a few steps and the new town with shopping malls just a 15 minute walk.We loved our 5 day break in February. "Never have we been better looked after than we were at the Laindons, From start to finish we were comtable warm and well fed. The room and food were outstanding as was Karen and family We cant wait to return to hastings and enjoy another relaxing weekend away"

"The house was absolutely freezing when we arrived, downstairs bedrooms smelled of damp. It took hours for the house to warm up and the kitchen and front downstairs bedroom didn’t ever warm up. The heating should have been set to come on so that it was warm before our expected arrival.There are draughts coming in around the windows in the kitchen, you can’t be in this room without the log burner on, Cold air comes down the fireplace in bedroom 1 which has a sheet stuffed up it to no effect, it is too cold to sleep comfortably in. The upstairs front bedroom where the baby slept was also very cold and we only managed to get the temperature upto 16 degrees on the 1st night. The temperature of the downstairs shower can’t be adjusted, it’s boiling hot. There are no sheets or towels provided unless you pay extra, I have never known this in a rented house, the pictures show the bedrooms all made up. There is no access to the locked freezer unless you pay extra. There is no recycling, you are only allowed half a bag which is madness for a house which is advertised for 16 people. There are an extraordinary amount of house rules, too many ! The outside of the house is not white, it is covered with green algae. The house needs to have replacement windows in order to be comfortable, I imagine it’s fine in the summer but not in the winter, 2500 is a lot of money to pay to be cold. I would not recommend anyone to stay in this house in the winter, with some repairs it could be lovely."

"Een comfortabel en gezellig appartement met een prachtig uitzicht op een heuvel en de oceaan Inchecken gaat makkelijk met een sleutelkastje. The old town is een mooie plek met overal verborgen straatjes, mooie oude huizen en gezellig winkeltjes en pubs. De oceaan is op loopafstand. Niet geschikt voor mensen die slecht ter been zijn. U moet goed kunnen traplopen, zowel voor het appartement als voor de omgeving"
