Red Caboose Motel

"This place is fantastic for families! Our kids loved the caboose hotel room, the animals and restaurant. Our only disappointment was that the bunks in the room were hard and a bit uncomfortable. There was also just a sheet and thin blanket for the kids bunks and my kids were cold. Having and actual comforter would have made it much more comfortable. The pillows were also quite flat and felt old. We will return because it was so great but will be bringing more blankets and pillows with us."

"Have stayed at this hotel multiple times, always has been great and that is why we always go back. Unfortunately, this time we have an unpleasant experience at checking. We arrive a little after 4pm and were told that our room was not ready and that they will call me when ready (no specific time frame was given). We waited in the car. After one hour, I decided to go back in and ask if it would take much longer. If the answer was yes, we would go somewhere and try to do something until I got the call. I went back to the same person that I spoke with before and asked if he could give me an estimate of how much longer it would take. I was not upset and didn’t talk rude to him. Sadly, he did spoke very rude to me saying “No, I apologize, I said I will give you a call when ready”. While he said the words “I apologize”, it was not at all with the attitude of someone that was sorry, but rather someone that was annoyed with me, as if I was doing something wrong. Even though I was not happy at all, I chose not to say anything and just went back to my car. After another hour (6pm), we saw this person walk out to the convenience store next door, we guessed he was on brake. I went back in, spoke to a different person, explained the situation and that I was still waiting for a call. This person checked and very confused told me that our room has been ready. Very frustrating, not sure what the issue was, no explanation was given. After that the stay was great."

"Unfortunately they didn’t have enough staff to have the outdoor and indoor pools open at the same time. Also, one of the days they didn’t have enough people to have the water slide open in the outdoor pool. It would be nice if they add microwaves to the rooms. Overall all it was a good stay, room was clean. Staff was very friendly."

"The hotel is above average, and ongoing construction projects is to improve the interiors. The room is generally outdated but roomy enough for a family. Breakfast is standard, the automatic pancake machine is great and fun to use. The mattress is comfortable. The shower is not so good since the faucet is kind of worn out and hard to use. The air conditioner is too close to the bed and the overall air circulation may be improved. In general, if they can update the interior design and it will be well worth the money."
