The Aframe Beach front cottage rental on Manitoulin Island

"The A-Frame cottage was a cozy piece of heaven. Great location with a beautiful lake in the backyard. Our host Jennifer was lovely and made us feel like the place was ours. From the loons calling in the early morning hours, to the rippling lake water under the full moon, we wish we had booked longer. If you are looking for a well maintained cottage and a quiet get-away, you won't be disappointed."

"A hidden gem! The room, I was in room #1, looked just like the photos! Even better, the staff make sure you have everything you need to be comfortable, a BBQ, spices, extra bedding, smart TV, good WIFI and a pleasant experience. I was only able to stay one night, THIS TIME! However this will be my go to spot when visiting!"

"Room was clean. Couldn't find the staff at check-in but they had left out keys for those guests arriving. We arrived around 7:30pm and there wasn't anything in the immediate area in the way of restaurants or grocery stores that were still open. It was a comfortable stay but a bit light on amenities."

"If you are looking for a peaceful and rustic retreat, then this place is excellent. This was an excellent option for a single traveler (myself) or a couple not needing a ton of space. Most modern amenities are provided, including very fast WiFi, A/C & Heat, a single burner cook top, small hotel size fridge w/freezer, toaster oven, and charcoal barbeque (No microwave, which is my only recommendation to be added), as well as an assortment of dishes, cutlery, etc. The only drawback is the outdoor Port o Potty (Steps from the door), so if a running toilet is a must, then you may be disappointed. The outdoor shower works excellent and has privacy curtains on the 1 open side if desired, or leave it open and stare at the gorgeous lake just steps away. Weather was mostly rainy during my brief stay, but the Hammock looked like a great place to relax. The Bunkie is located at the rear of the host's (Darren) property, who has 2 friendly dogs you can meet upon arrival. There are some Rooster's in the area, who also like to make it clear the sun is rising, so if you prefer to sleep in, I figured it was worth mentioning for the light sleepers out there. Otherwise, it is super quiet all night long with just waves peacefully touching the shore."

"This cottage is very charming and right on the lake. Sunsets were lovely. It is well decorated and supplied. Julian, the host answered my e-mails very quickly and was very friendly and welcoming."

"The cottage was clean and comfortable. The views of the bay was beautiful. One suggestion was to have a safer place to throw out the garbage, animals got into the shed from the bottom of the door and we had to clean up the mess. Otherwise it was a lovely stay, very scenic bike routes around the island."

"We loved our stay there! Secluded and rustic, exactly what you picture when you talk about staying on a cabin on an island. Nice docks in a protected little area from the wind. Place could use a good cleaning and get rid of the old coffee pots that either don't work or are enough of a mess you can't clean them enough. The owner was very responsive with any questions. I will say you need to make sure you can get a water taxi when you get there. We had our own boat so wasn't an issue but would have been otherwise. The water is beautiful and crystal clear. Fishing was good even right off the docks. The kayaks and paddle boards were great fun. The fire pit was great. It is a great set up. We had a wonderful time."
