This beautiful Fisherman's cottage is situated in the heart of Whitby's Old Town. It is close to the beach, the famous 199 steps leading up to the Abbey, the Swing Bridge and many charming tearooms, restaurants and boutique shops. Doris Cottage has been renovated to a high standard, it retains its original features and is a real gem. The cottage is an ideal home from home for families and couples. Secure underground parking a short walk away. Size: Sleeps up to 4 people, 2 Bedrooms. Nearest beach: Approx 0.1 mile. Nearest amenities: Approx 0.1 mile. Pets: One pet allowed. Short breaks: Accepted at this property. Smoking: Not allowed at this property. Rooms:  2 Bedrooms, 1 Bathroom, Lounge/Kitchen/Dining Area. Beds: 1 double bed, 2 single beds. Luxuries: TV with Freeview, DVD, WiFi. General: Gas central heating and gas range. Lovely stay at Dorris Cottage, lovely quiet location and a 30 second walk from the beach. The cottage had everything we needed for our three night stay. We would highly recommend this cottage

Perfect location to explore Whitby. Can’t get in the heart of it anymore than this. Very quaint and small cottage with oodles of charm. Only negative for us is the cottage was not very warm even with gas fire on and heating to full- we couldn’t get it above 19 degrees which wasn’t great after being out in the cold all day and having a 12 week old baby. we ended up getting into bed to warm up. Also bear in mind accessibility can be challenging for those with mobility issues. Can’t wait to visit again, but in summer!

The cottage had everything we needed and offered us opportunities to eat in if desired. We were in the perfect position to discover Whitby and the surrounding areas. We looked at the history and the beautiful pictureque area. Transport was very good and reliable. There were plenty of eating places, cafes tea shops restaurants pubs and a great selection of fish and chip shops. Love nooks and alleys to discover different things everyday. The people and atmosphere of whitby were friendly and welcoming. We will be back.. very interested in buying property in the area. THANK YOU WHITBY FOR BEAUTIFUL MEMORIES .

The cottage had everything we needed, was clean and had character. The kids loved the top room, with a nautical feel and a view of the sea. The location was excellent, being right next to the 199 steps, the shops and a short walk to the beach. The weather was terrible but we still had a great time and will definitely return to Whitby another time (it was our first visit), and will hopefully return to lovely Doris cottage.
