"Deceptive status of the amenities. Not all were operational. Non-responsive staff. Housekeeping didn’t show up until late in the day. Difficulty getting vehicle from mandatory valet. Overpriced menu options. Location was beautiful, but a disappointing experience for what is supposed to be an elite level property. "

"We had an amazing time at the property. We brought up our boat, were able to keep it at the slip provided and they even had private parking to store our boat trailer for the duration of the stay. Beautiful views from the back deck, toys and childrens books for our little one. Couldn't have asked for anything more, can't wait to return. And communication with Holly was a breeze."
"This is a great option instead of a motel for your stay in the area.
Very quiet clean and beautiful location are good reasons to stay here.
Be advised though, there are no staff available at the facility and no one answered or returned my phone call.
If you have issues like I did with the building entry code, you’re on your own."
Alpine Retreat - Donner Lake - Walk to West End Beach

"We spent 3 nights with our adult children. Cozy cabin with plenty of room. Well laid out. Everything we needed for cooking a Thanksgiving dinner. Easy walk to lake and to the Pub. Everything we were hoping for. (A particularly cool cafe style microwave oven). Would love to come back.
Things to know…there were hairdryers in two bathrooms although we were told there were none. Towels were stingy. In “our” bathroom, we had 2 large towels, 1 small and 1 wash cloth. The management company couldn’t tell us what kitchen supplies were there. It turned out to be an extensively stocked kitchen but for our purposes it would have been nice to know before we traveled. We came just after a snow storm. No problem getting to the property. But for the duration of our stay “our” street wasn’t fully plowed. "
