Hotel Riu Plaza London The Westminster

Hotel Riu Plaza London The Westminster

8/10 Good
"breakfast was included in our stay. Although it was somewhat chaotic in the breakfast room, there was plenty of good food to choose from (hot and cold). The staff were helpful and friendly. The room was comfortable. We thought it was reasonable value for money given general prices of stays in London. Location? Very handy for the Tate Britain Museum and the easiest underground station to get to was Pimlico (around 10 mins stroll away). One 'issue' we identified was the harsh fluorescent tube lighting in the corridor....For those with visual impairment the corridor lighting to the rooms may seem trendy, but it definitely doesn't help if you have some vision issues. Room layout? Somewhat quirky arrangements for bathroom and wash area! But the room was clean and well-maintained. Good hanging space for clothes etc."

"The staff were lovely, great service from everyone. The breakfasts were good, standard breakfast items but cooked/made well. Overall the room size was good, room to move and store suitcases (we had a triple room, 3 adults staying) and there were enough plugs by the beds for charging devices. The location was also fab, 15/20 min walk from Kings Cross and into Piccadilly/Leicester Square too, also, only a few minutes from the tube station at Russell Square. 3 things could have been better (and why I gave a 4, not 5): Ventilation in the bathroom wasn't great The windows are only single glazed so it was very noisy (you expect some noise being in the city, but this wasn't great, and I appreciate that it would be costly to upgrade, but I think it would be worth it) No plugs near enough to the only mirror (there was also not a lot of light at the mirror as it was recessed, and a wee shelf next to it would have been good too) so getting ready to go out was a bit of a challenge as we had hair straighteners to plug in We wouldn't rule out coming back, but not sure it would be a first choice given the above, but we still had a good stay!"

"I hadn’t had the opportunity to stay in London for over a year and as the Strand Palsce was previously always my first choice I decided to return. I was not disappointed! The welcome as I arrived at the front entrance to my departure the following morning reminded me why this has been my favourite London hotel for a good number of years. I look forward to returning in the hopefully not too distant future."

"The hotel is centrally located and all local amenities are within walking distance. Their restaurants are good. This was our second visit and I think we will continue to stay with them on our future trips"

"We stayed in an executive king room for the weekend for my daughter's 12th birthday. From the moment we arrived we were extremely well looked after by all of the staff and we were very impressed with the hotel, especially the VIP lounge which we had access to due to booking an executive room. As well as this, the hotel provided some lovely birthday gifts for my daughter, which she was very excited to receive when we arrived in the room. Overall we had a thoroughly enjoyable stay and we will definitely be back again. Thank you!"
