"Restaurant was a bit of a let down. One of our party was ceoliac . When reviewing the menu on line there were plenty of gluten free options. When we arrived at the restaurant there was less option has they had changed there menu with out updating it on line. Also staff were unable to advise us on gluten free due to new policies and regulations. Our gluten free member ended up having 3 starters which is all she could work out that was definitely gluten free but not has a choice but for the need to eat. Yet next morning when having breakfast the staff were willing to advise what g/f was available and willing to do g/f toast. Our gluten free member declined breakfast both morning despite having paid for it has she had lost confidence in the kitchen."

"Great location right on the site of all the shops and resturants. Good breakfast but would liked to have seen some veggie sausages, stayed 4 nights but never had them, apart from that its a good holiday inn.👍"

"The hotel is in a beautiful setting with the golf course on site. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room was nice but a little dated which I think is reflected in the cost. Overall a very nice stay."

"2nd visit to this hotel...and same room as I enjoyed it so much last time. And won't be last visit. My room felt and smelled like it had been cleaned from top to bottom before I arrived. Everything is spotless right down to inside of kettle. There are parts that are worn but for the price I overlook them. Staff are beyond helpful and friendly. I've stayed at a lot of hotels and these guys are top tier...in fact...Number 1!! Amenities in room and around hotel are very good. Parking is plentiful. Local shops and fast food, supermarkets and garages for petrol and snacks. Easy access to motorways and A roads. Quick access to city and beaches."

Holiday Inn Portsmouth by IHG

"Overall reasonably good. Room was fine, but the air conditioning didn't work (a problem in a number of rooms that weekend). Check-in was very slow, said to be because of a new computer system. Quiet, sea view (it was 5th floor and extra). Also, and as with a previous room, the shower drained very slowly and the outlet was pretty bunged up with hair (don't look!). We paid for parking with the booking and since there was no space in the hotel car park we got a voucher to park in the road outside, which was fine. We rarely saw any spaces in the car park. Nice to have a bar for a night cap, and breakfast (also included) was pretty good, we were just amused by the lethargy of the staff around there. Not sure we've ever seen two people work so slowly, chatting on the side. At one point I counted six tables that needed clearing and quests walking round looking for tables and eventually clearing their own. Not experienced things this bad for a while. We stayed two nights and experienced the same each morning."

"Our room was spotlessly clean and spacious. We had an excellent night's sleep and woke refreshed to enjoy the great English breakfast, included in the price of the hotel. Delicious and varied. The one member of staff on check-in duty, upon our arrival, was very helpful, but more staff were needed to deal with the check-in queue. Parking is available at a discounted price; in the case of our overnight stay, it was 50% cheaper, i.e. £6."
